I still remember 2017 when I joined Toastmasters and read stories of people who have been engaged with Toastmasters for more than 5 years. I used to speculate people on what they could have been doing in 5 years. The speeches of Competent Communication can be finished in hardly 3-4 months, why spend 5 years and pay the membership fee.?

These are the first thoughts when I reconcile about my journey in toastmasters which is almost 5 years as of now. In the last 5 years, I have had the opportunity to serve as VPPR, President, Area Director, Tech Manager, APQD, ACGD like roles. I clearly visualize the pivotal point which had incurred during the district training program as Area Director. I was sitting on a chair and looking outside the window of my hotel room in a Grey Colour Suit. The way leadership works in toastmasters for opening new clubs is absolutely an in-hand experience or call it an internship which I could have been doing practically in a MBA program. I was paying hardly anything as my membership fee. I would have invested more than 30 Lakh Rupees to complete an theoretical MBA. While looking outside at the clouds, my thought concluded that If I am ready to overlook societal norms the way MBA is defined as a degree, I am getting a golden opportunity. An opportunity to learn and grow mutually.

I was so overwhelmed with?the possibilities of growing with toastmasters that I immediately opened my whatsapp and shared thoughts with all the club members about the plethora of opportunities which toastmasters provides. It might be a coincidence about the impact?of my message in the club whatsapp group however, I saw 5 leaders who served district year from my club in subsequent years.?

Professionally, I am an entrepreneur who has co-founded a building construction management company, and conducts e-Ghar Home Inspection in India. The experience of serving as Area Director has opened a lot of learning opportunities for me which directly impacted the growth of my enterprise.?

Be it the Brand Manual of my enterprise, Importance of Logos, Hierarchical Structure of Company, Training Content, Management Information System, or Team Attitude everything has an direct/indirect impact of Toastmasters in it. Anyhow, if you want to assess, we have grown 7X in the last 5 years and multifold growth is yet to come the way?we foresee. In my opinion, I found myself as a bottleneck in terms of learning what toastmasters offer to an individual. My dopamine levels?get increased when I hear about International & Regional Leadership & Networking Opportunities?available via Toastmasters which is serving more than 3.5 lakh members across the globe.

Towards the end of my write-up, I would like to thank every toastmasters for building such huge value. If you are not a toastmaster you are missing a big time hidden learning opportunity.
