HUMANKINDNESS: Let's Replace Bad News With Good Deeds
"We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness." –Charlie Chaplin
In a world often dominated by negative headlines, imagine flipping the script and replacing all the bad news with stories of kindness in action. Instead of tales of conflict and disaster, picture a news cycle brimming with accounts of everyday heroes, random acts of compassion, and communities coming together to uplift one another. This shift in focus could not only brighten our daily outlook but also inspire a ripple effect of goodwill, reminding us of the inherent decency in humanity and the positive impact we can all have on the world around us.
We’re eager to hear your stories about compassion and generosity in everyday life. Kindness can manifest in countless ways, big and small, and we’d love for you to share your experiences with us. Perhaps you’ve witnessed a neighbor shoveling snow from an elderly person’s driveway without being asked. Maybe a coworker surprised the office with homemade treats on a particularly stressful day. Or you might have been touched by a stranger who helped you carry groceries to your car when your hands were full.
Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world. – Howard Zinn

6 个月Kindness, there is no doubt, is a concrete act that can be cultivated daily to obtain lasting benefits in our lives and in the lives of others. To cite a simple act, not even demanding, a profound form of kindness is active and empathetic listening. Giving someone our full attention without judging or interrupting can make the other person feel truly seen and understood. Forgiving also improves life. The worst enemy of the state of mind is resentment. Currently, together with a teacher, we prepare worksheets to teach sustainability in the classroom with the aim of helping students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to contribute to a better world.
