Engineering company seeks an HR Officer to manage all staff, Management, Employment Equity Committee, Trade Union Representation, Recruitment Agents, Training Providers, Merseta, Service Providers, Benefit Fund Administrators, CCMA, MEIBC, Department of Labour, Auditors, Trade Unions, Labour Consultants.
You must have excellent IR skills and have worked in a big Engineering company.
MEIBC and Union experience.
A minimum of a National Diploma in Human Resources be trained as SDF and have excellent admin skills.
Preference will be given to an African Male or Female.
You will support the Human Resources function and the overall business objective by ensuring compliance with relevant legislation through effective recruitment and selection processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, managing the disciplinary and administrative processes, as well as the company's Employment Equity and BBBEE processes and requirements
Knowledge and Training:
Proficient on all Microsoft packages
Sound knowledge of Labour Relations, the Labour Relations Act
Sound knowledge of Employment Equity Act
Sound knowledge of BBBEE requirements in terms of Skills Development, Management Control and the BBBEE Verification processes
Sound knowledge of disciplinary enquiries, grievance processes, appeals procedures
Knowledgeable in representing the company at Conciliation and arbitration
Sound knowledge in effective recruitment and on boarding procedures
Knowledgeable in various internal auditing process from external parties
Experienced in:
Managing general office administration
Effective control of all HR related information
Managing the disciplinary process, drafting notices, preparing for cases, collecting evidence, including bundles, presenting cases
Representing the company at conciliation and arbitration will be an advantage
Presenting training in company policies and procedures
Managing the company’s Employment Equity process
Coordinating the company’s BBBEE compliance in terms of Management Control, SED, and SD elements
Working in a highly unionized environment
Understanding Bargaining Councils, Main Agreements other collective agreements
In applying all MS Office package to a proficient level
Managing employee wellness programs
Roles and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding
In collaboration with Department Heads ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place
In collaboration with HR Manager, provide advice and support with the drafting and preparation of job specifications and job descriptions
Ensure that company recruitment processes are followed and properly executed, and that all relevant documentation is completed
Support the review, preparation, development and implementation of procedures and policies on staff recruitment
Prepare internal and external Job Adverts
Liaise with recruitment agencies and labour brokers
Assist with the screening and shortlisting of CV's
Coordinate and participate in competency-based interview processes to identify suitable candidates
Conduct reference checks as needed
Conduct criminal checks as needed
Arrange pre-employment medical assessments for possible candidates when required
Inform unsuccessful applicant
Prepare offer of employment for successful candidates
Draft employment contracts
Coordinate the on-boarding/induction process
Coordinate the probationary process and ensure probationary reviews are held
Industrial Relations:
In collaboration with the HR Manager, coordinate all disciplinary matters, including but not limited to; draughting and issuing of warnings, attend grievance meetings, attend to appeals, lease with IR consultants
Ensure accurate record keeping of all disciplinary related processes
Ensure speedy resolution of all disciplinary enquiries, grievances and appeals
Representing the company at CCMA/MEIBC for conciliation or arbitration, if required
Educate and give active support to first line managers in dealing with disciplinary matters with the motive to eliminating the element of risk
Educate employees on company disciplinary code to avoid misconducts
Manage all performance related as well as incapacity processes together with employees and their managers
Assist in providing basic counselling to staff who have performance related obstacles
Conduct exit interviews with employees who have resigned
Provide group trainings and facilitations as required
Compliance and Administration:
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation through effective administration of the following, but not limited to
Employment Equity
Scheduling and coordinating EE Committee meetings
Updating of EE information (on the HR Information system)
In collaboration with the HR Manager complete the EE reports
Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment
Ensure BBBEE goals in terms of Training and Development and SED are understood and executed,
Ensure that all relevant BBBEE information is collated in a database format for ease of reference and reporting
Manage and coordinate social responsibility initiatives
Employee benefit administration
Ensure all employee benefit related information is up to date
Interact with third party and benefit fund administrators to ensure all processes, documents and communication is up to date
Maintaining of employee folders and employee information
Managing interns and internship agreements
Maintaining and updating HR visuals in plant
Assist with the completions of HR related reports
Employee Wellness:
Initiate
employee wellness
programs to promote and facilitate positive employee relations
Coordinate employee support programs
Coordinate company social events
Physical Environment
Office Environment but will also be required to interact with employees on the shop floor

Must be a good communicator, both in writing and orally
Excellent organisational skills
Must be able to work under pressure
Must be willing and able to work long hours when required
Self-motivated, focused and task-driven
Good technical ability (relative to HR discipline)
High organization and planning ability
Ability to prioritize workload effectively and works with a sense of urgency
Able to work to high levels of accuracy with an eye for detail
