The Human One

The Human One

The greatest leaders are willing to admit when they are wrong. - John C. Maxwell

Welcome to another edition of The Leadershifts Chronicle, a newsletter where I share ideas and resources for leaders who build better businesses and explore new ways of running an organisation.

The last day of June...another six months have passed by already in 2024. The Summertime is always a time to reflect, read many books, enjoy some festivals, visit some nice places ... and sketch out the first draft of my book on systemic work.

Over the last weeks, I've met some great people and discovered many sources of inspiration, for which I'm very grateful.

I wish you all a great and inspiring summer! Or winter if you are on the other side of the world.

Welcome to this week's Leadershifts Chronicle...

Enjoy...

?? Gartner released a new article on a new approach to leadership... Human Leadership

Human leadership is the ability to navigate not only a leader-to-employee relationship but a human-to-human one by exhibiting:?

  • Authenticity - Act with purpose and enable true self-expression
  • Empathy - Show genuine care, respect and concern for employees' well-being
  • Adaptivity - Enable flexibility and support that fit team members' unique needs

It’s a recipe for disappointment. 波士顿谘询公司 's 2024 Most Innovative Companies report examines the readiness gap and offers perspectives on how companies can get back on track.

?? Just as Jocelyn Ames , from The Hum I used to think conflict meant ‘dead end’. She shares 3 Steps to Start a Difficult Conversation.

1. Clarify what you want

2. Identify what happened

3. Tend to your fears and concerns

Things to watch

One of the initatives I'm supporting is the Conscious Business Club , founded by Teja Breznik and Anja ?ibert . The Conscious Business Club is a hub for pioneering an alternative approach to business, focusing on benefits for the whole business ecosystem. We believe in a business ethos where profit meets purpose, where leadership transcends personal agenda, and where every decision is made with consideration for its impact on people, society, and the planet.

In this talk, Thomas Eckschmidt talks about the "Fundamentals of Conscious Business". Het talks about purpose, becoming a conscious leader and transforming organisations.

Book recommended by Thomas Eckschmidt :

  • Purpose Canvas for Business: Making it clear why we are in business
  • Conscious Capitalism Field Guide: Tools for Transforming Your Organization
  • Conscious Business Manifesto

So that's it for this week.

Like always, feedback is very welcome and appreciated. It helps me grow on my path to becoming a better leader.

Have a great weekend and till next week...

Wouter

Thank you Wouter Gheysen for this Chronicle edition. I appreciate the opportunity to Learn about Conscious Business. I am looking forward to seeing greater alignment between the Reinvention movement and Conscious Business. I believe we have a lot in common and our approaches are complementary. The rest of the "Hunan One" was equally engaging and valuable.
