Couple X visits a lounge bar on a warm Friday night in Orlando and asks the bartender for the menu. The bartender has two options: -
Option 1: Provide Couple X with the menu, return to his duty post, and wait until the couple communicates.
Option 2: Make Couple X feel welcome and comfortable as possible while they take their drinks.
With Option 1, Couple X really do not have any way to form an opinion on the overall service and experience.
With Option 2, Couple X is likely to trigger the following events:
1.? Bartender gets to engage Couple X in more meaningful conversations.
2.? Bartender gets to know that the husband is a regular and was bringing his wife to the bar for the first time.

3.? Bartender offers the couple two shandygaffs as a complementary gift on departure.
4.? Couple X is blown away by the service and experience.
5.??Many pleasant and interesting things that are likely to follow/come with No. 4.
Right! So what then is Hospitality all about?
Hospitality is as an act of kindness in welcoming, looking after the basic needs of guests or strangers; mainly in relation to food, drink, and accommodation.?
I believe that every individual wants to be treated in a dignifying manner at all times. Wherever we find ourselves; at the shopping mall, restaurant, gas station, game centre or the clinic, we want to be recognized, appreciated and valued by hospitable people. Anything short of this will certainly lead to instant displeasure and resentment.
Hospitality organizations must unceasingly demonstrate the spirit of excellent hospitality to their clients if they want to remain in business. They need to do more in communicating to their clients that they mean more and would love to have them over time and time again.
