Tonight is Laylat Al Qadr, the holiest night of Ramadan. It is celebrated as the night when the Quran was channelled by Prophet Mohammad — a night when the veils are thin between the finite and the infinite realms.
The Prophet was asked to ‘iqra’ — to read the symbols that life was presenting him, on this night, and codify it into what became the Quran. There are symbols galore being presented by life in our times, the pandemic being one of them. Can we build in us, the capacity to silence our egos and identities enough to really listen and read life objectively?
How did you listen to life today?
Ramadan Kareem. May the night of power help us claim our personal agency in faith.
