The Human Cohesion Project — 11 Oct 2024

On the ninth and final day of Navaratri, we invoke Siddhidatri, a goddess who grants divine knowledge and mystical powers (siddhis). Siddhidatri signifies fulfilment and completion, embodying the realisation of potential and the attainment of wisdom through devotion and discipline. She is often depicted sitting on a lotus, symbolising the blossoming of spiritual insight and the unfolding of the highest truths.

Siddhidatri reminds us that true power comes from within, through the mastery of self and the alignment with higher consciousness. In a world constantly seeking outward displays of power and control, she teaches us that the greatest achievements arise from inner wisdom and the ability to harness the gifts of the mind and spirit.

Today also marks the celebration of Ayudha Puja in the Hindu tradition, a day traditionally dedicated to honouring the tools and instruments of our work, whether physical or intellectual. The practical wisdom behind Ayudha Puja is timeless: it reminds us to respect and value the tools that support us in our daily lives, whether they are the technology we rely on, the skills we have honed, or the environments we inhabit. Honouring these tools is a way of recognising the sacredness in the ordinary, grounding spiritual practice in the practical aspects of life. Very importantly, it reminds us to be conscious and respectful of the ecosystem around us that enables our life and work. We are never standalone entities. We are, because everything else is.

Shubh Navaratri and Happy Ayudha Puja. May Siddhidatri’s blessings inspire us to integrate wisdom and practicality in all we do.
