Another kind of capital

When I fell into recruiting 15 years ago, I never would have imagined that the industry and concept of talent was on the brink of becoming the modern day gold rush.  At the time, we were still viewed as a cost-center doing administrative work. Not anymore!   

As financial capital for funding technology startups has increased exponentially in the past few decades, human capital has not kept pace.  The supply and demand has shifted.  The previously scarce commodity ($) has become readily available, creating a new scarcity (talent).  With so many organizations raising money, an entrepreneur’s biggest challenge has become attracting, developing, and retaining talent.  Just ask any founder what keeps them up at night :-)
