Bionics, Robotics, Nanotechnology and Artificial Intelligence of the 21st Century
Science and technology are accelerating 21st century civilizations in a dramatic and exponential way. Only 42 years ago a great series would appear on TV worldwide that would present to our civilizations the future vision of what our modern societies driven by bionics would be. Bionics is the application of biological solutions to the technique of architecture, design, engineering and modern technology systems.
Colonel Steve Austin of US [1] would have an aerospace accident, leaving him in a very critical situation and seriously injured. Fortunately, the supposedly advanced technology of that time (1970s) had the ability to rebuild him into a better, stronger and faster human being. Thus, with existing technology, one of his biological eyes is replaced by an artificial eye or bionic eye. Both of his legs and one of his arms were replaced with bionic prostheses and likewise one of his ears with a bionic ear. In this way this human being was enhanced and turned into a super human being.
The word bionics (science that studies how living beings perform certain tasks, and then create electronic devices that imitate them), was coined in 1958 by the American doctor Jaack Steele (1924 2009), “bionic” in English. [2]
Etymologically, the first element bio comes from the Greek (bíon), "living being." Bios is the prefix that refers to life as in the word biology. The second element (nica) is the ending of the electronic word.
In 1960, Jack E. Steele said that once the real functioning of living systems was discovered, it could be materialized in devices, which could imply that Leonardo Da Vinci was the first Bionic Engineer, since he studied the principles of operation of living beings to apply them in the design of machines.
Likewise, there is bionic engineering that encompasses several disciplines with the aim of concatenating (making work together) biological and electronic systems, for example to create prostheses activated by robots controlled by a biological signal or also to create artificial models of things that only exist in nature, for example computer vision and artificial intelligence and cybernetics.
The advance of cybernetics, artificial intelligence (AI) and nanotechnology have allowed us to get closer and closer to the vision of the construction of Iron Man's armor.
"Tony" Stark, better known as Iron Man or originally Iron Man [3], is a superhero appearing in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by writer and editor Stan Lee, developed by screenwriter Larry Lieber, and designed by artists Don Heck, Jack Kirby, and Adrian Alvarez. Tony Stark is a successful billionaire, businessman and engineer, with a luxurious life and an enormous fortune thanks to his inventions and his father's inheritance, but his life takes a sudden turn when he is kidnapped by a terrorist group and suffers a serious injury to his back. chest when a piece of shrapnel lodges near his heart, threatening to kill him, and his captors try to force him to build a weapon of mass destruction for them.
He instead creates a powerful iron suit of armor with built-in weapons that he would step into to save his life and escape his captivity. Tony escapes and decides to rebuild his armor, thus becoming "Iron Man", then using the armor to become a hero and protect the world.
The surface of the suit's primary layer is designed on a titanium nitride base with a structure with molecularly aligned crystallized iron.
Titanium nitride, TiN [4] (also known as Tinite) is an extremely hard ceramic material (Hardness ~85 Rockwell C or hardness ~2500 Vickers or 24.5 gigapascals), frequently used as a coating on titanium alloy components, steel, carbides and aluminum to improve the surface properties of the substrate.
TiN has excellent infrared (IR) refractivity properties, reflection in a similar spectrum to elemental gold (Au).
TiN oxidizes at 600°C (~1100°F) in the normal atmosphere and has a melting point of 2930°C. The metallic paint on the armor serves as protection against electromagnetic interference with signals in the microwave frequency band.
The second layer of the armor is composed of thermoelectric generators, regulators and electrical insulators.
The third layer of the armor consists of two independent armor motors that are properly aligned to simulate the movements of the musculature of the person inside.
Each layer has an integrated communications system, control systems to regulate power, in order to simulate a specific muscle. At a microscopic level, the suit is made up of computer-controlled systems capable of sensing and amplifying the movements of the suit to increase its resistance up to 90 times.

In its design program, the ability to interact with a chemical, biological and nuclear environment was considered. Its power source considers the use of cryogenic batteries.
The structure has an approximate weight of 200 to 240 pounds (440 to 528 kg.) The entire armor has the capacity to generate an energy field to generate an anti-gravity force. The maximum speed of the structure is 1.2 Match, that is, 1470.053 kph.
As weapon systems it uses repulsor rays based on pulsed, laser-guided plasma-type projectors. As secondary weapons systems, it uses a disruptor ray with broad electromagnetic and gravitational scanning capabilities, which can cause disruption in many types of electromagnetic systems.
Iron Man's armor suit contains an Artificial Intelligence AI that can communicate with him in real time, including organizing his diary, organizing communications with third parties, planning routes, determining strategy, and maintaining a security system. alert on the radar.
Tony Stark's armor appears to be able to read his mind, assess his health in real time and provide medical assistance when necessary. At a minimum, this should have a working knowledge of neuroscience, anatomy, physiology and medicine which is a great achievement of bionics and cybernetics.
The thesis of the advanced super powers of this planet Earth poses the challenge of man-machine fusion (Human Machine Interface) to take the next quantum leap (Quantum Leap) in the evolutionary process of the human being. This thesis proposes that a superior biological species must be able to merge with its own advanced technology. This process of man-machine fusion has already begun in different parts of the planet and will lead human beings to create other versions of themselves by reverse engineering. In the coming years we will witness the advent of a new species whose biological and electronic fusion will give rise to different mutations of human beings Human Being 2.0, Human Being 3.0, Human Being 4.0, etc... with different organic electronic implantations. As Joel Garreau states in his work Radical Evolution. [5]
"In the 21st century, Genetics, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Nanotechnology are constantly intertwining and fusing and in the decade between 2025 and 2035, human beings will be capable of reverse engineering their own brain."
