Human adenovirus (HadV, hereafter referred to as adenovirus)

Human adenovirus (HadV, hereafter referred to as adenovirus) is a non-enveloped double-stranded DNA virus. It was first discovered in 1953 by Rowe et al. from the cell culture of surgically removed tonsil-like tissue of children. At least 90 have been discovered so far. Genotypes are divided into 7 subgenera from A to G.

The types associated with respiratory disease are subgenus B, C, and E, and the type is related to the severity of the disease. Different types of viral infections can cause a variety of diseases, including pneumonia, bronchitis, cystitis, conjunctivitis, hepatitis, gastrointestinal diseases and encephalitis.
