Huge companies like Meta, Starbucks and Disney are making this change....

Hello ??

Welcome back to the Found newsletter today where we are discussing why huge companies are backtracking on their flexible working solutions and offering more incentives than ever to get people back to the office.

So why is this happening?

According to a January survey by Monster in the US a third of business leaders have changed their mind about implementing working from home or hybrid working.

CEOs and leaders cited the following as key reasons for getting people back in the office:

  • Collaboration
  • Camaraderie
  • Improved professional performance
  • Better management?
  • Increased trust

There also requires different approaches for different companies as they find their voice. 华特迪士尼公司 CEO Bob Iger said this as Disney’s flexible 2-day-a-week working policy became a 4-day policy “As you’ve heard me say many times, creativity is the heart and soul of who we are and what we do at Disney”.

What does this mean?

Big shifts from world-leading firms naturally suggest that there will be a shift toward hybrid policies becoming more office-based and then more companies coming back fully too.

Whilst employees see flexibility as the most important factor in taking on a new job position, this may become less important with economic uncertainty and job losses potentially looming.?

This likely means more executive control which means a big drive back into offices from companies of all sizes and sectors.

Will anything have changed?

To put it simply, yes. Demands for workspaces have changed with more companies analysing their carbon footprint and others prioritising spaces with gyms and wellness centres.

Companies such as Salesforce in San Francisco have even encouraged staff back to work by offering charitable donations for each office visit.

It’s clear that the office landscape has changed but that team members are more valuable than ever, so getting them in the office is important but requires an exchange for their time.

Who has Found helped transition into the office?

We recently helped Culted find their new space in Farringdon.

Here’s what they had to say: “Found took a very different approach and listened to what we were looking for. We were also working to a tight deadline for our move-in date. They found us great options and once we decided on the right place, they were very supportive and made it all possible in time”

Fantastic work from Josh and the team in helping them find their space.

What else is new?

We started our new Socials series - Find The Space With Found.

You can check out our first office from Josh here and we’re looking forward to seeing if any of the team can beat his effort.

Until next time!
