Huber's Leadership Accelerator Program

Huber's Leadership Accelerator Program

J.M. Huber Corporation is dedicated to upholding operational excellence to the utmost degree, a core tenet of the Huber Principles. Therefore, it's only fitting that we create pathways for our employees to enhance their professional skills.?

Our commitment is reflected in our leadership development initiatives designed for individuals at different career stages. These programs aim to cultivate expertise in areas including leadership acumen, strategic thinking and operational excellence. By doing so, we equip emerging leaders with the capabilities needed for roles at the managerial level and beyond.?

Today, we’re excited to highlight our Leadership Accelerator Program.??

Program Overview?

The Leadership Accelerator Program (LAP) is designed for current people managers and focused on providing tools for leading others. This program was established in 2019 by Huber Engineered Material’s Global Vice President of HR Sharon Noble and welcomes colleagues throughout J.M. Huber Corporation. The current cycle marks the program’s third cohort of participants.??

The program curriculum is developed in partnership with the Terry College of Business at University of Georgia. Participants attend a one-week session in the Spring, then break out into project groups to tackle initiative such as, Carbon Footprint Optimization, Wellness, Talent Development, and Developing an AI roadmap. The groups collaborate throughout the summer and reconvene for a second week of sessions in the Fall to present their findings and solutions, many of which have tangible impacts on our business.??

We’re pleased to showcase a selection of HEM employees who are actively engaged in the 2024 cohort of LAP.??

Clarissa Duarte , Director of EHS&S — Huber Advanced Materials?

“LAP is a great opportunity to improve business knowledge skills, staying up-to-date with concepts such as Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability. I really liked having members of Huber leadership teams as content developers—it made it easier to relate each session with our company interests and areas of application. A bonus benefit is the networking opportunities with colleagues across J.M. Huber Corporation—I was really impressed by having such a diverse group, and that was the most enriching experience in my opinion: Almost half of participants were from outside US and we were able to also share ideas considering different cultures and perspectives.”?

?

Danielle Cox , Nutrition Sales Manager — Huber Specialty Minerals?

“I have found the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the globe invaluable. In an environment where I primarily work from my home office and travels to customer & manufacturing sites, it is a unique experience to work with CP Kelco, Huber Engineered Woods, colleagues from other parts of HEM, as well as management teams together in one space. The chance to collaborate with Huber peers in one space is an opportunity I have enjoyed. Highlights of the program have included the application of topics into Huber business perspectives, and I enjoyed returning to a classroom environment with peers for the hands-on learning experience. I appreciate the investment Huber is making in the future of our leadership, and I look forward to the sessions &?project report outs in October.”??

?

Eric Simms, Plant Manager at Marble Falls, Texas — Huber Specialty Minerals?

“Prior to this first session of LAP, I had some exposure to other businesses and sites within HEM, but very little exposure to our HEW or CP Kelco businesses. It was helpful to hear their perspectives on the current climate and future plans. The course topics were clearly well thought-out by the organizers for this session as the topics were relevant and it was great to see how the instructors from UGA Terry had some understanding already about Huber as a business and were able to tailor their presentations accordingly."?

?

Marco Piva , HR Manager, EMEA — Huber AgroSolutions?

“To me, as an HR professional, training stands out as one of the most essential tools. It signifies trust in people, investing in their development and providing them opportunities to grow. This fosters motivation among employees and elevates the overall skill level within our company, leading to improved performance. So, I’m really proud to be part of a company that make this kind of investment and also for having been nominated to participate.??

At LAP, the speakers’ insights were remarkable, particularly Deborah Grayson Riegel's thoughts on building trust within the company. Her emphasis on the interconnectedness of trust, belonging and inclusion resonated deeply—especially in today's evolving work landscape where hybrid setups and virtual communication redefine the concept of ‘proximity.’”?

?

Sharon Noble , Global Vice President of HR — Huber Engineered Materials?

“Empowering employees to make the most of their careers and giving them the tools to do so has always been a key priority for me. Developing this program in partnership with Huber leaders and the Terry College of Business at UGA has been a highlight of my career. Year after year, I am grateful to our engaged employees for their thoughtful participation. I’m looking forward to our October sessions and presentations from each of the project teams!”??
