HUA Buzz: Students and Faculty Speak on Hindu Studies at HUA and Exploring Hindu Philosophy,

This Week's Buzz?

Webinar This Saturday, March 1

What does being a conscious, engaged, and resilient Hindu mean? The Certificate program in Hindu Studies (CPHS) prepares students to engage with the world as a Hindu with confidence and clarity. It enables and promotes inter-generational resilience. It goes beyond seeking peace and spiritual grounding, i.e., the Adhyatmik dimension of Hindu Dharma, which is necessary and critically important but insufficient to engage with the world, especially an unfriendly one. In short, it supports students in discovering and embracing their Swadharma, which leads to a life of purpose, meaning, and fulfillment. ?

In this Webinar, Students, Faculty, and Shri Kalyan Viswanathan will share their thoughts about the centrality of the Certificate Program in Hindu Studies and what it can offer people who are willing to commit to its rigor.

Webinar This Sunday March 2

Long before the Greeks "invented" philosophy, the Vedic Hindu Darshanas explored the nature of knowledge, reality, and existence.

This exploration evolved into the six classical orthodox systems of philosophy (Aastika Darshanas), which include Nyaya, Vaisheshika, Sankhya, Yoga, Mimamsa, and Vedanta, and the three heterodox systems (Nastika Darshanas), which include Charvaka, Jaina, and Bauddha.

In this webinar, Dr. Kalika Uttarkar will provide a brief overview of these nine Darshanas and introduce a course on the systems of Hindu philosophy.
