I received this book, He Is, just before my flight home. Although the book is set up as a devotional, one short (3-4 page) chapter per week or day, I devoured it because it’s so gripping. Each chapter is one character quality of who He Is. The plane ride went quickly because I was soaking in the greatness of the Creator-God of the universe, the most profound and life-changing thoughts a human being can think! I could write a longggg review because I like why this was written, how it was written, and what was written, but who would read such a review!? Great research on these 50 characteristics, flowing from the seminal verse, Hebrews 11:6. To come to God for initial salvation and continual growth, we must first believe that He Is and then that God cares enough to always respond to those who earnestly seek Him. The author’s story regarding how this book came about sheds light on who He Is and how our Creator God lovingly relates to us. This releases life for me in each characteristic so I can grasp it for my life. Yes, this is great theology from a healthy historical view of Christianity and it’s also truth on fire in a life. What a healthy blend!! I highly recommend this book and will begin to integrate it into how I disciple other Christians.

Devotionals are a part of my daily life. He Is! Knowing God through Fifty Scriptural Meditations by Mark R. Worden is the latest Devotional that I have read. I know for me that I am always looking to grow in my faith and Daily Devotionals are a great way to help me grow. I REALLY LOVE the layout and topic of this devotional book. Mark R. Worden written a wonderful Devotional on getting to know WHO God is! He does this with 50 days of Meditations of the Scriptures that talk about WHO God Is! Each chapter covers 1 day and each chapter has questions of reflection to help the reader really understand that days Meditations and help them really dig deep to understand WHO God is! Mark has written this book with his own experiences and stories and they are very encouraging. I really enjoyed the Personal Stories and how strong this book is filled with Biblical Teachings and Scripture. I feel this book would be GREAT for Individuals and also for Small Group Studies. I have been encouraged and challenged while reading this Devotional. I HIGHLY recommend this devotional for all! ENCOURAGING BOOK!
