The HRPro Loop #14
Dear HR Professional,
I want to talk about HRPro.be, the Belgian Association for HR Professionals.
7 years ago, HRPro.be started with a mission to gather HR around a common purpose: to give a voice to the profession and to professionalize it further.
HRPro is the only independent, recognized, and non-profit association for HR in Belgium. It is run by people who have HR experience, and it builds on the decades of history the various member associations have.
The association is recognized by the European Association for People Management EAPM, which gathers 34 national HR associations.
We are shareholders of the HR Ambassador Award, which gives a solid recognition to organizations or HR Professionals who have distinguished themselves based on a thorough assessment.
We are independent and are not linked to any commercial organization. It means that the association can be neutral and critical when needed.
We do not strive for profits as all profits are returned to the HR community, e.g. through our mentor program for young HR Professionals.
Our SoundBoard, the SoBo, gathers regularly to think about ways of developing the profession and of growing its impact.
But some of these strengths are also weaknesses. Because of our non-profit nature, we are sometimes hampered in our growth. So, in the coming months, we will reach out to you to further develop this professional body.
If you'd like to put your shoulders under this wonderful endeavor, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Because HR is worth it.

George Petitpas Award
Fons Trompenaars was awarded the George Petitpas Prize on October 20. The WFPMA Award "George Petitpas" was established by the World Federation of People Management Associations?in the mid-1980s to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the HR profession at the international level and whose spirit and dedication have been inspirational to others. ?In particular, it recognizes individuals who have made exemplary contributions to the international level and whose spirit and dedication have inspired others.
The award is named after George Petitpas, who was nominated as president of the WFPMA in 1983, but?passed away before taking office.
The next HRpro SoundBoard will be held on November 27th in the offices of the VBO-FEB in Brussels. The topic will be on the need to develop leadership. This will be the topic of the Hrpro Conference in March as well.
The SoundBoard gathers regularly around certain strategic HR topics. In addition, the SoBo responds to evolutions in the labor market and wants to support and evaluate policies that shape the world of work. Its members are seasoned HR professionals eager to support the advancement of the HR profession.
We are keen to contact HR professionals who wish to join the SoBo.
