HR TECHNOLOGY 2.0 A Peek into HR technologies of Future @Present

Technology has been a great catalyst, the elixir of a change in organizational and personal ecosystems throughout human history. Organizations today, with a global footprint and diverse environments, embrace and enable this change with a technology strategy that bears artificial intelligence with increased computational power & machines which learns by itself of the next stages of improvement.

According to Josh Bersin with Deloitte, $40 Billon dollars a year is spent on Human Capital Management (HCM) technology. What does this bold new technology mean to your organization? Solutions that are faster, better and larger, with less costs per employee and an extended reach across diverse geographies.

Today’s HR practice is no different when it comes to adoption and acceleration fostered by a solid engine of technology. Technology aids efforts in bringing much needed transparency and ability to make the Human Enterprise of business more efficient and responsive. Greater than 40% of organizations today are looking at improving or developing an enterprise HR strategy (Sierra Cedar HR Systems Report 2017).

Today the difference in what we expect from HR technology is something that may surprise many. The attention is now focused on the Employee Experience. Yes, happy employees do make a difference! The employee’s desire to become a “Top Performer” in an organization is the key to self-actualization; and those top performers are defining the success of today’s high performing organizations. This new technological disruption is setting off alarms throughout the workplace, being spoken of like never before…..a new force that is ringing in Change! Technology is introducing a paradigm shift in the way organizations and HR departments are strategizing the importance of HR, the official custodian of its people. “For the People, By the People and Of the People” is becoming the new motto for success.

Constant Digital change has triggered a massive need for organizations to rethink what investments are needed to create deeper and better talent availability within an organization…focusing on the reduction or non-existence of technology setup times. Cloud-based technology has reduced the time it takes to implement change. We are seeing the same amount of technology used to perfect products and services now being shifted to its people and talent power…… being equally disbursed across an organization’s spectrum. We are seeing a massive upward trend, 40% to 66% of organizations identifying User Experience as a biggest cause of concern, and a prime mover for a large segment of companies to choose to, either develop their own employee engagement and empowerment platform or to buy one. And, as we know, one system does not fit all. Off-the-shelf platforms often results in customization changes that extend the wait time for change, prolonging the shift to a fully-engaged workforce.

The HR Technology need arises primarily from the fact that a better-informed employee cuts down the time and costs that drive-up efficiencies by subsequently cutting down the supervisory bandwidth required to enable the same results with less oversight. Quality & efficiency of decisions is invaluable to resonate value propositions across the organization. As per a recent HR Systems survey report, >40% are deploying HR Technology strategy with at least 17% of them thinking of integrating Social Platforms within the organization.

On a holistic basis, this year organizations across the globe are investing heavily in transformative HR Technology Adoption with 5% of these organizations wanting to deploy HR Technology across the delivery platforms of Recruiting, On-boarding & Core HR processes.

That's quite interesting read Srinath, I believe though technology is growing and changing the work dynamics its taking lot of transactional work away from HR which essentially means HR will be more operationally and strategically involved... Only thing I can say is the most important competency for an HR professional at this hour is adaptability, mental agility and receptivity or else they will become rudimentary
