HR Talk with Shamim Kavuma

Dear Job Seeker,

Good?research and groundwork for a job interview is half the battle won, but your presentation and behavior at the time of the interview are noticeably significant, It could even enhance your chances of winning the position and lead you to success and/ or dump you down from the interview process.

The ways of nonverbal communication could be so many, but in every nonverbal sign, your expressions are thoroughly noticed by the interviewer, i.e. physical appearance, standing, and sitting postures, movement of your hands, and legs, facial expressions are the signs of nonverbal communication, which a candidate never utters from his/ her own word of mouth but the employer/ interviewer does notice everything very thoroughly while interviewing.

They could easily judge your inclination gesture or optimistic attitude towards the job position just by the nonverbal communication, be confident, polite, and calm! Don't panic so easily and take slight pauses to respond positively to each and every question.

Nonverbal communication is even more important than verbal communication during an interview.

Dear Job Seeker,

Your LinkedIn profile matters, having an active and well-put-together LinkedIn profile will significantly increase the chances of you being discovered by various companies + Recruiters ( the likes of me ) looking to hire people based on their skills and experience.

Do not let your LinkedIn profile be only a 'simple afterthought' - it could well be your link to your Dream Job with that Dream Company that you so much want to work with.

Dear Employee;

Keeping your skills current is one of the most important ways you can do your job well and stay on top of changing demands of the workplace. It can also help you prepare for new opportunities that may arise at work and help you keep your job in a difficult economy\ (Repeat difficult economy ). But don’t make the mistake of thinking that training is entirely your employer’s responsibility: -It is up to you to stay current. i.e. making an honest evaluation of your skills, then taking any needed steps to strengthen them.
