HR Lessons from Coaching to Continuous Learning - ‘King Richard’ film

HR Lessons from Coaching to Continuous Learning - ‘King Richard’ film

Just caught "King Richard" on Netflix and, wow, it's so much more than a typical sports movie.

It dives deep into the world of coaching, planning, and team spirit in ways that hit close to home, especially for us in HR.

A quote in one of the scenes so very well resonates with me – “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail!!!

Let’s have a look at its learnings:

?

  1. Coaching and Mentorship -

Seeing Richard Williams guide Venus and Serena really hit me. It's just like us in HR, right? Stepping into a coaching role, we can really help our teams shine, guiding them to reach heights they've never dreamed of.

?

  1. Strategic Planning -

Richard's game plan for his daughters? It's a masterclass in strategy, much like our HR blueprints. It's all about aligning our people strategies with the bigger picture to score big wins for the organisation.

?

  1. Patience and Resilience -

The way Richard sticks by his daughters through thick and thin is nothing short of inspiring. It's a powerful reminder for us to stay the course, facing challenges head-on with a mix of grace and grit.

?

  1. Sportsmanship and Teamwork -

The sense of fair play, integrity, and collaboration Richard fosters is what we aim for in our workplace culture. It's about making sure everyone feels part of the team, ready to bring their best game.

?

  1. Continuous Learning and Development -

Venus and Serena's journey under Richard's watchful eye shows the power of never stopping learning.?

As HR folks, fostering a culture of growth and learning is key to keeping our teams competitive and innovative.

?

"King Richard" isn't just entertainment; it's chock-full of lessons for us in HR.

From coaching to resilience to teamwork, it's a playbook on how we can elevate our game and make a lasting impact, well beyond the office walls.

Inspired by Richard Williams' strategic genius? I’d love to hear how you're applying similar strategies in your HR practices.?

Aman Rajabali just as Richard Williams recognized the unique talents and potential of his daughters and dedicated himself to nurturing their skills and guiding their careers. Similarly, you are tasked with identifying talent within and outside of NHRD and you excellently are implementing strategies to develop and retain those individuals.....with your leadership & Diplomacy :))

On a lighter note, perhaps it is best not to plan at all to avoid any possibility of failure ?? On a serious note, now I will have to watch the movie: perhaps while attending certain kinds of webinars. I find some of these webinars very useful.....to catch up with Netflix ??
