HR leaders share their No. 1 priority for 2024 as they brace for a decline in retention and employee engagement

Here’s an interesting excerpt from Fortune’s CHRO Daily Newsletter.

“Around 44% of HR leaders plan to increase hiring over the next six months, up from 38% in quarter three,?according?to a new survey of 194 CHROs from the Conference Board shared exclusively with?Fortune. That’s a positive sign, given?some?economic experts (including?the Conference Board) are still wary of a recession early next year.”

Do you realize that there is a huge pool of under-utilized talent in your company? They’re called women.

According to a 2023 Gallup survey, “As organizations face high rates of retirement in leadership, fallout from the Great Resignation and uncertainty about what the future workforce wants in a job, putting a strategy in place for women’s leadership development is vital for organizations to remain relevant and sustain growth.”

My prediction for 2024. If companies invest in developing their human capital and provide women with opportunities for coaching and mentoring, that no matter what the next year will bring, companies will already have the workforce they need to continue to grow.
