HR Insider | September

Welcome to your September edition of HR Insider - ELMO's monthly newsletter for the HR community.

This month, we're talking remuneration reviews. If you're anything like us, you've just gone through the process of allocating bonuses and new salaries for the upcoming year. Firstly, phew, you made it.

Rem review season can be one of the most stressful periods for HR and finance teams, often with the two sides at loggerheads as they try to make their budget stretch. That's particularly true for those still using manual methods like spreadsheets to manage the process.

To help those thinking about upgrading to technology, we spoke with our very own People Advisor and Systems Lead, Ryan Adams, about his experience switching from spreadsheets to remuneration technology. He talked about the challenges involved in the old process - bottlenecks, delays, and frustrations - and how technology helped to build transparency and trust between HR and finance. He also shared the benefits of using the new gender pay gap reporting function for the first time.

"It enabled us to talk to our Chief People Experience Officer and the other Executives about where we’re at with our gender pay gap and the movement we’ve achieved this year" - Ryan Adams, ELMO Software.
