HQ&A: Sparking Partner Success with Ulises V.

In a growing e-commerce space, developing successful relationships with retailers is key. For Partner Success Coordinator Ulises V., sparking partner success depends on embodying those values and prioritizing relationships. Read on to get his perspective on meaningful retail partner relationships.

1. First things first, let’s talk about your role. What do you do at Shipt??

As a Partner Success Coordinator, I have the opportunity to learn from all business lines while supporting my team and leadership. The Partner Success team as a whole handles the relationship aspect of all retailer accounts. Day-to-day tends to vary as we are the front-line team that hears what our partners might need or want, and how together we can continue to drive business; we do this all while we continue to foster our relationships to best assist one another, especially in ever-changing times like today.

2. How does the Partner Success team serve our retailers and ensure their success with our platform?

The Partner Success team is just that—we strive for our partners’ success. To ensure success on our platform we serve in multiple capacities. At times it can be bringing in cross-functional help from other teams company-wide or ringing the “alarm” if a situation arises. We make it clear to everyone that we truly are here to help them succeed and address anything a partner might need or encounter while on our platform. We’re going above and beyond each day to prove how we are over-delivering delivery!

3. What has been your favorite project to work on?

One of my favorite projects that I had the opportunity to work on was the Target Last Mile Delivery photo/commercial shoot. I was asked if I would be willing to be part of the talent and I figured why not, who does not love a little taste of stardom, right? A coworker and I showed up on set “camera ready” and I would have never imagined how much time, dedication, and lighting it can take to create such content. Now, our commercials and pictures are being shared nationwide at all Target sortation center metros to help recruit Shipt Drivers!

4. How do the Shipt values show up in our work with our partners?

Each one of our Shipt values shows up with every partner. There is not a day that Rally, Drive, Caring, Authenticity, and Positivity are not present. There are days when, to fully understand a Partner’s need, we have to be able to show up as our authentic selves and ask questions so we can understand why they care, and why we should care too.?

Positivity is a big one for me—there is never a meeting I am not smiling in and striving to remind everyone the best way to have a great relationship is by coming together and joining forces! Issues will always come up and when they do, rally and drive come into play. We work so hard to make sure all the appropriate stakeholders and teams are brought together to come up with the best solution. That is how we truly bring the magic, every day!

5. Our purpose is to spark the connections that show why every person counts. When it comes to honoring Hispanic heritage at Shipt, how can our purpose shine through?

I believe that when it comes to honoring Hispanic heritage, our purpose can continue to shine through with the help of everyone and our leadership. We are frequently encouraged to set aside time and make sure we are truly sparking connections with everyone.?

A diverse perspective can make such a difference every day in how we see, work, and care for one another. We all go through life’s wins and losses that can easily bring people together to bond. Not to mention—one of the best ways that connections start to spark is through the wonderful cuisine that is Hispanic cooking.

6. Finally: what’s always on your Shipt orders??

The one item that is always on my Shipt order and I am obsessed with is Dr. Pepper. It does not matter if I can get it in a can, bottle, two-liter, or minis; I truly enjoy it. The little things like that beverage can easily make my day so much better and bring me a smile at every sip.
