Raising the Bar for Food Safety & Quality

Hiperbaric, the global leader in High Pressure Processing (HPP) technology, is gearing up to host the 4th annual HPP Innovation Week from June 18-20, 2024.

Under the theme "Raising the Bar for Food Safety, Quality & Clean Label Products," this virtual event will showcase the latest innovations driving the adoption of HPP technology across the food & beverage industry.

HPP is a nonthermal food preservation technology that uses cold water and high pressure to inactivate food-borne pathogens and spoilage microorganisms. The process maintains nutritional integrity and taste and significantly increases shelf life without the need for preservatives, ultimately reducing food waste, while enabling fresh, clean-label products.

Applications include juices and beverages, meat, fish and shellfish, fruits and vegetables, dairy and prepared dishes.?A highly versatile technology, HPP can be applied to a wide range of foods.

The comprehensive 3-day program will explore how HPP delivers enhanced food safety, extended shelf-life, and optimized nutritional and sensory qualities - all with a clean label.

HPP Innovation Week 2024 Session Topics

Key topics include food safety and microbial inactivation capabilities of HPP, impact on product nutrition and sensory appeal, shelf-life extension benefits, and HPP's role in enabling sustainable practices like circular economy models.

In addition to expert presentations and panel discussions, HPP Innovation Week will feature interactive elements, such as Q&A sessions, case studies and pilot plant tours.

HPP Research Awards Return

Hiperbaric will recognize High-Pressure Processing research projects through the second edition of the HPP Research Awards, which will be presented during HPP Innovation Week 2024 on June 19th.

These peer-reviewed awards acknowledge academic researchers for their scientific contributions to the development of highly nutritious and safe food products.

"By recognizing young researchers through the HPP Research Awards, we seek to foster innovation and drive a safer, more sustainable food system empowered by HPP technology," said Andrés Hernando, CEO of Hiperbaric.

Graduate and undergraduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and academia professionals will have the chance to present research to a captivated audience and gain valuable insights from an expert panel.

Types of publications include peer-reviewed scientific journals, oral communications, or posters presented in scientific conferences.

An international judging panel, which includes Dr. Carole Tonello , VP of Business Development, Hiperbaric High Pressure Technologies , Dr. Kai Knoerzer , Principal Research Scientist, CSIRO , and Dr. Ann Charles Vegdahl , Extension Associate, 美国康奈尔大学 , will select the finalists for the HPP Research Awards.

Along with cash prizes, the winner of each category will receive the exclusive opportunity to showcase their research through Hiperbaric’s website and social media pages.

Previous HPP Innovation Week events attracted over 6,000 industry professionals from 60 countries, underscoring the incredible global interest in this revolutionary non-thermal processing method.

The Cold Pressure Council (CPC) , whose mission is to lead, facilitate and promote industry standardization, user education and consumer awareness of HPP, will also participate in the event.
