HP Stands Out at drupa

Of the many conversations I had with customers, colleagues and partners at the biggest print show on earth, one of my favorite quotes is from a colleague returning from a tour of some of the other major stands at drupa:

“The difference with the HP booth is all the noise. At other booths they may have loud music playing or announcements booming, but at HP all you can hear is the sound of printing. Even if there was music, you wouldn’t hear it because of all the jobs printing on the show floor.”

That type of noise is music to my ears. To stand out you have to be outstanding and that’s really my biggest take away from drupa. From the design and planning which started three years ago, through the implementation and operation during the show, all I can say is – outstanding.

Having over 50 working presses on the largest stand taking up all of Hall 17 was impressive and effective. We were able to host future and current customers and discuss how our latest print innovations can help their print businesses, while emphasizing the entire time that our wide breadth of solutions are all up and running.  It was straightforward and enjoyable to walk from area to area, seeing real jobs and asking domain experts about the technology behind it all. A truly impressive experience.

With blockbuster deals announced from the beginning to the end of the show, across all regions and business units, this drupa could really be called the “HP drupa”.  Honestly whether it is remembered as the “Digital drupa”, “Inkjet drupa” or even “Corrugated drupa” the amazing thing  - is that all these are areas where HP is bringing advanced commercially deployed digital print solutions to market for the benefit of our customers.

Of course, this type of execution does not happen on its own. There are a lot of people both on the front lines and behind the scenes, working long days and nights to make HP drupa 2016 happen.  It was really a tremendous team effort which makes it even more special.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank a mumber of people. First, all the visitors and customers who came by Hall 17, making the largest booth at drupa such a wild success. Second, our partners for their collaboration and professional presentation of our end-to-end solutions,  Third, the show organizers for providing the environment for growth and development of the print industry, and finally all our dedicated HP team members for taking the initiative to really reinvent our possibilities. A sincere thanks to all of you for making 2016 the best HP drupa ever.
