8 年I was a big HP printer fan but now have migrated to Epson. Just bought the Epson EcoTank ET 2550 in an effort to save money on INK. I won't know for a long time. However, I still have an HP laser jet 1012 from 2003. It still works great! Only on my 3rd ink cassette.

8 年I'm no HP fan-boy, but this is getting more humorous every day. LOL! "If you push chip fat through a diesel it's what will happen. " - that's funny, but not as funny as all the whining, complaining, calls for "revolt", "lawsuits" and selling HP stock. THIS IS WAR. For decades, the parasitic niche has sucked off OEM innovation - it doesn't take much to peel a sticker, fill a cartridge, package and sell cheaply, does it? Tic-Toc. HP intends to destroy you; their move into ink(when everyone else was getting out) is aimed directly at the after market. Maybe if the third party folks invested millions in ink technology and decades in research, they'd understand. Well, of course they understand - they always have. Ultimately, the real winners here will be the customer. After the 'competition' is eradicated, HP will be forced to maintain a lower price point in order to capture the dwindling and remaining clicks. Imagine HP quality with a 'remanufactured' price. The one true HP competitor is changing attitudes toward print - not knock-offs and legal gymnastics. - The End.

8 年Has anyone checked their facts here? The range of products listed as :affected" by updates are already some of the most aggressively priced colour producing products available on the market bar none. Using Genuine HP supplies. These aren't photo printers for the retail market, these are low cost products designed to deliver low buy prices and low running costs. The X Series in particular operates at about half the cost of competing products and twice the speed. Using, yes Genuine HP consumables. The Pagewides products (X series) have a print head the width of a page ... it is a solid state printer described as the best colour printer ever made in publications. Poor quality inks not designed to work with the exceptional engineering at a microscopic level are killing the print heads and customers are experiencing failures. If you push chip fat through a diesel it's what will happen. You get colour page prices at less than 2p per page on these with HP Genuine, and accent colour that has some logo or highlight on the Page about the same as a mono page. Let's bring a little balance here shall we. Disappointing that so many intelligent people listen to HP bashing when the main motivation is to guarantee reliability and customer satisfaction. They are cheap to run. Period.

8 年To be honest, with the reliability I get from my HP printer, if it stopped working all together I probably wouldn't notice the difference
