HP EliteBook G11 - What are our highest resolution screen options?

HP EliteBook G11 - What are our highest resolution screen options?

All of the new HP EliteBook G11 range have a 1920 x 1200 WXGA+ resolution IPS display as standard. This is perfect for most general office users, but there are some who will need more - in particular content creators, analysts and data workers. Here are your options:

Highest resolution: 2.8K OLED

HP EliteBook 860 G11 - with optional 16 inch OLED - click for details.

The HP EliteBook 1040 G11 and HP Elite x360 G11 can be specified with a 2880 x 1800 resolution OLED display. The x360 version has standard pen and touch screen support.

The big-screen HP EliteBook 860 G11 can be ordered with a large 16 inch OLED display at the resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels - this model also has a dedicated numeric keypad.

The OLED options provide the highest native contrast and colour accuracy available in the HP range, making them a sensible choice for content creators.

Second highest resolution: 2.5K IPS

HP EliteBook 635 Aero G11 with AMD Ryzen weighs just 1kg. Click for details.

The HP EliteBook 840 G11 can be specified with a 2560 x 1600 resolution 14 inch IPS display. Moving to the AMD side, the 1kg HP EliteBook 635 Aero G11 can be optioned with a 13.3 inch IPS display at the same resolution. Both are 100% sRGB which makes them a good choice for content creators needing better colour output than standard screens.

Do users need higher resolutions?

If you have teams that are editing web pages, video, applications, or PowerPoint slides at Full HD resolution, then they need to be able to view their content, and the toolbars in their authoring software at the same time, without zooming. Likewise if you have teams that are working on multiple Word documents side-by-side, a 2.5K or greater display will render these at a readable resolution. Excel users will also appreciate the additional real estate with up to double the cells visible at any time at 100% zoom.

Other screen options:

Teams wanting the standard resolution model with better colour performance can choose the 100% sRGB models available across all HP EliteBook and Elite x360 ranges. These can render a greater range of colours natively without any shimmer, most noticeably in darker tones and highlights. The same technology is available in HP's S5 and S7 monitors.

HP Elite x360 1040 G11 with HP Sure View Privacy Screen. Click for details.

Teams wanting to lock down screen content from prying eyes can choose the Sure View option available on most models. These narrow the viewing angle to prevent over-shoulder glances with the tap of a button - useful for public areas and things like sensitive meetings.

We can run you through the pros and cons of each, and provide guidance on pricing.
