Effectively placing your business’s personality on social media will take you a long way…
Since the internet began, people have been looking for a way to wave our personal interests under people’s noses…
Then, social media has provided us with that opportunity!
But we all know a blogger, an artist, a musician… a something that has taken their opportunity for free promotion to a level that is a bit too far. But how much is too much?
Rather than flood people’s timelines with your projects all the time, post at the best times when people will be looking. Lunchtimes and early evening are the classics lah.
Our current generation has to consume so much more marketing than any that’s ever preceded it. And guess what – the more ‘traditional’ marketing we’re exposed to, the more we hate it!
Social media is a better way of telling your stories and your brand’s, whether personal or work-related, and people will respond better if you put some of your own personality into it.
If you’re funny, colour your posts with some humour. If there’s an interesting story behind any statement you make on social media, tell it.
Clients come to your businesses’ profile to experience what you and your brand offer, so putting a little more of you and your company’s identity into the work you share is crucial.
To get noticed in the sea of things people see on their News Feeds, you’ve got to offer something a little different. Add an image, sound clip or video to anything you do, I definitely recommend doing it!
And you know what? If you don’t have pride in what you do then no-one else will either!
“Check this thing out, we worked really hard on it” commands way more respect. If you think that blog post you’ve written is the best thing you’ve written in a while, tell it to everyone in your posts.
And yes, then there are people who love their hashtags…
#You #don’t #need #a #billion #of #these #to #get #views #on #a #post. In fact, it pretty much does the opposite, turning people off what you have to say!
Not only are you showing your audience or customers that their opinion matters, engaging in debate and receiving constructive criticism will make you and your business better in the long run.
And last but definitely not least, don’t forget to break up the stream of promotion with as many fun posts as you’re comfortable with!
Go around, see things in the market, express opinions, hang with people in your industry and take pictures and videos…
Things you get out of these activities will further enhance the attractiveness of your businesses’ social media feed!
