As businesses embrace digital transformation, virtual instructor-led training (VILT) is set to become the norm for interactive training (and that includes face-to-face) – so you better used to it.
VILT is more accessible for a remote workforce and has the potential to minimize time out of the office for office-based workers.
VILT programs can deliver training to anyone, anywhere and can be tailored to specific needs for group training.
VILT’s success is, without a doubt, a result of its ability to blend different elements of human-centred and technology-based learning – interaction plus instruction, and caters to the three main learning styles: visual (watching), auditory (listening), and kinesthetic (doing).
However, it falls flat if you do not have the ‘right’ platform.
A training session should never be just a trainer with a Zoom account and a shared screen.
Delivering effective online software training means the ability for the instructor to see and interact with all (or each) learners’ screen .. just as important as the learners seeing the instructor screen.
And - to be truly interactive, we also need to be able to "point to" or assist learners on their screen, as individuals and as they would in the classroom. This is the missing element of most virtual instructor-led training.

4 年Fair warning James about VILT becoming the new norm. I agree with your points. It ticks all the boxes, especially the one current digital training has not been able to deliver on - context and demonstrated understanding. From my understanding, it looks like it delivers cost benefits too?
