How's Life Treating You? & the "Thank You" story?

Those of you who know me know that I love to tell stories. You'll also know that I'm a big?fan of saying "Thank You", too, but more on the?latter in a bit. The good news is that my collection of stories has grown so much since I launched the? How's Life Treating You?show, and over the next few months, I'll be sharing things with you that happened prior to getting the guest on, during the show itself, and what happened after.

Now, a few friends of mine know about the story I'm about to tell you, so I thought that this would be the right time to make it public.

"Thank You".

Personally, I believe these two words are really easy to say and a must. The thing is so many of us don't seem to put the effort in. When it comes to thanking someone, I believe in really feeling the thanks too, especially if the person doing the good deed actually brought about real change to my life in some way, big or small. If you're like me, when you wake up, you'll give thanks that you're alive, give thanks for everything you have now and also what may come. Giving thanks may be an inward thanks, for instance, you simply say "Thank You" when you wake up, or you might want to give thanks to a deity, your partner, or whomever. The point is that you say the words and mean them. I can't stress just how important this can be to your day. Saying these two words when you first get up can have such an influential impact on your day. Try it out and let me know.

So, let's get into the meat and bones of the story (if you're vegetarian or vegan, forgive me for the expression). Before I launched my show, I met someone and talked to her about How's Life Treating You. We talked about what the show would be all about, what it's meant to do, and how it's supposed to make the viewer feel. Full transparency; when I spoke to her about the show, I still wasn't 100% sure about it. Why? I had never done anything like this before in my life! Sure, I work in sales and it's my job - no scratch that - my career to build rapport with people and care about their pains, needs, and wants, but to do it in front of cameras with a production team? That was new to me.

So, I spoke to her about the idea and she absolutely loved it. In fact, her exact words were?"I'd love to support you!"

The thing is, till now, she doesn't know that I wasn't 100% behind the idea of the show, and to be honest with you, it was her massive support and her passion that drove me forward in doing the show. It wasn't just her words either. It was the shine of her face, the real "go and do this Nader" approach that pushed me on to get this thing off the ground.

Once again, full disclosure; I had a chat with myself before approaching her. I often chat with myself. I don't always agree with myself, but that's a story for another time. The chat went along the lines of this;?"I'll tell her about my plan for the show and if she supports it, then my passion for this project will massively grow. I'll know from her reaction if How's Life Treating You is to be greenlit."

From the first-ever show with Travers Nicholas in March 2022, till today, I have experienced massive, unprecedented progress, and I'm not just talking about the stats of the show. The show has changed me as a person, as it should. When you get to speak to so many successful people and really dig deep into what makes them tick, it can only serve to be a good and enriching thing for you. Another thing about me is that I'm a firm believer that the future always gets brighter if you look at the future properly. What do I mean by that? I mean you have to get up and leave your safety net or comfort zone. Bust your gut to search out opportunities. They won't fall in your lap you know.?

So, what's the moral of the "Thank You" story?

Sometimes people can change the complete outlook of your life by simply telling you a few words of encouragement. Thank them for it. Thank them from the very pit of your heart. "Thank You" truly is a powerful message. Don't be afraid to thank someone. You could make their day; a day that until you've thanked them, might not have been going great. You might get your morning coffee from Starbucks or another coffee house. When you receive your coffee, thank the person who gave it to you. Or a delivery guy might bring you a coffee. Smile and thank him. It's not hard. These two words can have profound consequences on the person you say them to, so never forget them. Oh, and show real passion when you thank someone. I never forget what Newton said,?"For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction."?When you thank someone, it can give them the spring they need.

So, do me one last favor. Follow your passion. Passion and Opportunity are friends, BFFs in fact (I'm down with the kids...), and you'll find that opportunities are normally found on either side of 9 am through to 5 pm. Sat at your desk and waiting for something to happen? It won't. Go out there and get it. Hunt for it, do whatever you need to do to get it!

I took a leap and started a show, and what I can tell you is that since I started How's Life Treating You, I feel complete and definitely happier. More doors have since opened, you see Opportunity has a twin, and it's also called Opportunity. Opportunity brings opportunity, but you'll need to flick that first opportunity domino. That's down to you.

Just in case you thought I had forgotten, the friend who pressed the proverbial button to kickstart all of this is amazing Lana Khalaf

Thank you, Lana.
