#HowILead - A Point-of-view on Leadership

When I read the email from #LinkedIn on #HowILead as a topic, I thought about it as an excellent topic to write about. Leadership is not someone’s birth right. It is a trait which is learnt, chiseled and grown over a period of time. Leadership is all about influencing, coaching, guiding and leading your teams/company/family to success. We see leaders in all spheres of life, across age groups, across diverse set of humanity and across all levels.

#HowILead my team is using the following tenets.

• Lead by Example – Set a very high standard for yourself and always raise the bar. Be a symbol of Excellence.
• Enjoy your work – Love what you do – Do what you Love – Keep your Client/Customer , Boss, Subordinates and Peers Happy
• Have a Servant Leadership Mentality - Anyone can be a boss – but to be a leader you need to have a different mindset
• Have a Core Value and Integrity - Pick a strong core value and live it – daily. Leverage the tools available in your firm and contribute.
• Never Stop Learning - Life is short – Things change too often. You need to be ahead of the curve. You have plenty of opportunity to lead. Learn on a daily basis. Raise your capability on a regular basis. Help your team do the same. Remember the song "Every day is a winding road.."
• Excel and Innovate - Excel, Innovate and Deliver High Performance – by living the Core Values
