How’d you make your money?
This is the inaugural post to "Perspective." I wanted to have a platform to talk to all of you with short-form writing that doesn't take more than 2 minutes of your time (10 minutes if you're a slow-reader).
I'm planning on having a wide mandate of topics that will include the markets, real estate, business, and life.
I'll steer away from politics and airy-fairy concepts that saturate LinkedIn and other social media.
Mainly, you're going to hear my opinions; so if you disagree, message me.
With that, here you go...
Every time I take on a new client, I love hearing their origin story.
I want to hear how you went from living paycheck-to-paycheck to a $5mm net worth.
I kept tally recently, and the amount of hand-me-down wealth I come across is slim.
I see bootstrappers who got active in real estate.
Not necessarily smart, just active.

I’ve had truckers who saved their wages and put in offers at 3am on Multifamily while driving through Nevada.
I’ve had a fisherman who bought small and grew.
These people didn’t even get “rich” before they started. They took the money they had and put it all on Red.
The common denominator: ACTION.
They weren’t “fully prepared” and had everything they needed to feel “fully assured” it was a smart decision.
They were ready enough, and they were willing to be wrong.
They said “f**k it” and pulled the trigger.
Because of that decision, he’s no longer driving a truck.
And, the other one now takes the boat out to feed his buddies sea urchin (that someone else caught) and wine.
I try to get these origin stories as much as I can from new clients.
Every time I hear them it pulls me out of my comfort zone and cements the idea, “stop thinking ---> make a decision ---> get into action”
