How Your Power Zone Melts Obstacles for Effortless Results

For more than 20 years, I have been inspired by - and been a partner to - individuals who choose the path of leading their dreams forward to new heights of achievement. It is a privilege to witness their transformation and acceleration to their greater self which, for me, is found in their Power Zone. Deepak Chopra refers to this place as “the light.” That said, this is not a mysterious or elusive place, nor is it a woo-woo thing. 

The Power Zone is a real and tangible part of our being, and is as real as intellect, sight or a body part. We need only to give ourselves permission to step into our Power Zone to partake of the benefits of it and, therefore, influence of our personal and business success. It’s about personal leadership at full power. But what does that really mean? And...

How Do I Know This?

Even as a child, I felt a sense of significant purpose and knew I had a message bigger than myself to share with others. My message was always fueled by a sense of a calling - I just knew I had something I was supposed to teach. I could feel my greatness, that same thing each of us possesses... my core driving energy relentlessly beckoning me to explore who I was and who I could become as a result of this purpose. Additionally, I needed the vehicle to deliver this profound, life-changing message.

I tried different roles, seeking to find the right fit. Parts would connect, but I didn’t feel as whole or as powerful as I knew was my destiny. In my journey to find my personal power, I made mistakes and faced hardships - even life and death circumstances - and didn’t always have the skills to see the opportunities in my challenges. I had to learn how to quit making judgments that would hold me back and, instead, accept, forgive, and let go. When I discovered this capability, I was able to enjoy more of the process and, eventually, relax into finding what I have now come to know as being from my personal leadership - my Power Zone.

Finding My Vehicle – Significant Why

When I discovered the vehicle of coaching and, later, inspiring audiences through speaking to become change agents for their best future, it felt completely natural. It was like putting on a perfectly tailored suit and showing up as my complete self. It was such an energizing, liberating, and empowering experience that it was like coming home - to my true self.

When you are in it, you want more of it and to stay there longer.

When speaking to audiences, I help participants visualize and feel their true self stirring inside – their personal Power Zones. They’re invited to think of a time where they completed a big goal, won a tournament, realized a career aspiration, or stepped up in successfully taking risk. Almost always, the entire audience can resonate with this experience. Then they describe how they felt in that peak experience. The responses are unanimous - they felt strong, powerful, a sense of achievement, validation, on top of the world - all of which are different ways to describe feeling one’s Power Zone.

Likewise, you’ve had many opportunities to live or perform from your Power Zone. When you are in it, you want more of it and to stay there longer. It’s feeling the pull of your own power, your own leadership, your own ability to step into new places - nothing is bigger than you in your life. You inspire (vs. control) others. You find results can be simple, effortless, clean. You might call this state being in your ZONE.

 I share in my book, Leaving Your Comfort Zone: How To Lead Your Life From The Power Zone!,where transformation happens - courage is found, inspiration is fired up, passion and confidence combine and risks feel more practical. But one of the most significant shifts that happens is you feel more deliberate, more purposeful, more focused. It is this quality that will make the biggest impact on being a true leader in your life.

What Makes Up the Power Zone?

Through my career and, really, lifetime, I have discovered that your personal Power Zone is made up of three elements – your core driving values, your greatest strengths and your significant WHY. It is when these three elements intersect that the magic of your Power Zone is activated. Often in this state, you’ll feel inspired to produce significant transformations in all areas of your life. As you practice being in your Power Zone, it will awaken and deepen your “inner leader.”

For me, personally, what I perceived initially was its fullness, evolving into a more abundant, more profound peace and wisdom. Understanding that I am the intersection of my values, strengths and significant why gave me the clarity to find my voice, inspire change and be a stronger, better leader in my life and in my business.

As my clients find their Power Zones, their awakening and alignment takes place. I’ve been honored to witness the indicators of this shift, including such things as, getting out of the passenger seat of complacency and status quo and into the driver seat of their lives, having courageous conversations about healing relationships, taking action to add more joy, and increasing confidence to lead their business to new achievements by reaching visions they never thought possible.

This is a short list; having worked with Power Zones for decades now, the indicators are numerous. But you know what I mean here based on your own history. When you take action from inspiration and motivation vs. from fear, obstacles melt and you just get it done. THAT is your Power Zone in action!

Can You be in Your Power Zone 100%?

Honestly, no - but why would you want to? Even the fastest, most powerful performance sports car has more than one speed.

The good news is that, when you have accessed your Power Zone deliberately, you can get there quicker and stay there longer. There are six principles of living and working from your Power Zone - I cover each of these in detail in my book and, naturally, in my work with my amazing clients. The benefits of living and working from your Power Zone are exponential; my intention is that you feel and express your Power Zone on command.

Greatness doesn’t just show up in life; instead, your Power Zone reveals and ignites your greatness so you can access it. Your greatness is developed and honed by every push and pull of situations where you have to find a deeper belief and trust in yourself. It surfaces when you need to look for the opportunities in spite of the challenge, to take a RISK and dig deeper once again, listening to that part of you that says, “Keep going, you’re worth it - your journey has a purpose!”

Your Power Zone reveals more of your profound greatness each time. You no longer wear a mask of confidence because you ARE confident! You no longer have to ‘choose’ what face to wear because you are authentic in your most powerful expression. You know what you know. You take action in expressing your purpose. The biggest factor from that is that your Power Zone allows you to be more deliberate in creating your life and how you’ll influence through your leadership. Such are the gifts of your Power Zone.

Use For The Greater Good!

My life path has been filled with courage, unwavering spirit, and many defining moments lush with inspiration to reach the point where I am today. I can reflect on those challenges now, and times I took the risk to do the seemingly impossible, and acknowledge my truth. I love my Power Zone and how I evolved to access greater levels of it; I have discovered profound wisdom. In essence, I know and embrace my significant WHY so I can use it for the greater good.

I believe it will involve some form of finding your “inner leader” and sharing it...

At some point, you will face your destiny and the choice to grow beyond where you are now to fulfill your primary purpose in this lifetime. I believe it will involve some form of finding your “inner leader” and sharing it with others as the cycle of life. I know it is a gift to have found mine and, even more, to have the good fortune to share with you. If you’ve kept a big dream locked away, or struggled at times to feel your greatness, let this be an invitation to allow it to reveal itself to you. Through every push and pull of life, stirring inspiration, challenge and/or achievement — Strengthen Your Power Zone!
