How did you get on with revisiting your Mission / Vision / Values since my last edition of The Uplevel?
If you missed it, you can catch up on earlier editions here.
?
Getting clear on these is powerful stuff - helping you to move forward with more clarity and confidence for your business goals, strategy and marketing.
?
So what are we looking at in today's edition of The Uplevel?
Today let's look under the hood at "The Nuts and Bolts" of your business ...
?
If you have any aspirations at all to grow, bring in more clients and more revenue - it's likely you'll need to take a look at your processes and operations.
I know, I know... not the sexiest part of business.
But these have the power to:
?
? Free up your time to focus on the income generating parts of the business
? Ensure your clients get a consistent and positive onboarding, support whilst you work with them, and offboarding.
? Make your life easier!

THE NUTS AND BOLTS ??
"It's very easy to be different but very difficult to be better" - Jonathan Ive, former Chief Design Officer, Apple.
?
The following 4 steps cover what every company needs to scale and grow.? Yes, yours included!
?
And the process is?PPTP.**
?
PPTP stands for:
?
This is used by Business Strategists (Hi,??) to review your business if you've not been achieving the results you want but are unsure where you're going wrong.
?
Whilst I'm not expecting to be able to run through this whole process in one email alone, I want to get you thinking about your own business in these terms.
?
TAKING A PPTP APPROACH
?
A few thinking points for you to review your own business through the PPTP lense:
?
1) Process
?
This is your back of house. All the workings of your business - the infrastructure.
?
If there are shortcomings in your operational processes - it's most likely to have a knock on effect on your sales too.
?
A few areas to think about:
a) Your external communication - how easy it is to do business with you? How smooth is your new client onboarding process? How quickly / effectively do you follow up on enquiries?
b) Your sales process - Does your messaging marry up with your values?? Are your automations working ok?? How are you capturing interest?? Is the buying process smooth?
?
?
2) Product
?
What is your process to assess whether a new product with go out?
?How do you assess its profitability??
?
Are your products/services within your zone of genius, something you're passionate about, have the experience in and where there is market demand?

3) Team
If you have a team already, do you:
?
a) Have the right people in the right roles?
b) Involve them in the decision making?
c) Keep them communicated with and engaged?
?
And if you don't yet have a team, do you understand:
?
d) When is the right time to recruit?
e) Which role is best to recruit to?
f) When you do recruit - are you recruiting for the right values (that reflect your company values - refer back to my email from 8 April).
?
?
4) Profit
?
Take a look at your different income streams.
?
Would you know what profit margin you're making on each?
Are there any that take a lot of time to run that would be better replaced with a higher margin activity?
?
?PPTP in the wild
An eye opener for Lucy**, one of my recent Business Strategist clients, was looking at all the expenditure related to one of her particular income streams and not just the revenue generated from it.? Was it as profitable as she first thought?
?
Taking into consideration each of these 4 areas, which are you neglecting currently?
?
?
?? COMING UP...
?
In the next edition (make sure you've subscribed to The Uplevel) I'll be exploring THE HORIZON SCAN.
?
In the past 3 editions of this series, we have done a lot of "soul searching" looking inside your business.? In the next edition, we'll be putting our head above water to assess the wider environment in which your business sits and market research.
?
Where there any surprises in the PPTP process?? Which area have you been neglecting to date? (Now you're aware of it, you can form a plan!)
?
Til the next edition...
Got this far? I'm so pleased you're still with me. Did you know that my mailing list get the first peek of Uplevel to start taking action early to make big things happen in their business? Want the early peek - get your name down here and you'll also receive my "32 LinkedIn content ideas" guide to get started with. After all, best known wins!
