HOW YOUR MIND WORKS

HOW YOUR MIND WORKS

Many of us spend our lifetime missing out on opportunities or blaming others for our bad luck. We have so many excuses – family situations, childhood issues, not enough money or time, and we use these excuses to explain the results in our life. Yet others, who are goal achievers and goal-oriented, will always succeed in life.?Anything these ‘goal setters’ undertake will eventually succeed; it could be a new career, financial freedom, relocating to another country, finding the perfect partner or soulmate. Whatever they touch turns into gold!

?Do you know people like this? I’m sure you do.

?So, why do some of us succeed whilst others fail?

?Let’s go back to basics first. You see, the answer is all in the mind. But most of us never really know how to use the mind effectively; to get the mind working properly. No-one has ever really seen the mind and to really understand something, we need an image to visualise. The program ‘Thinking into Results’ introduced me to the concept of the ‘Stick Person.’ See below.

The large circle represents our mind and the small circle represents our body. The body is described as the “instrument” of the mind. Halfway through the large circle, we place a vertical line to create two halves.?The top half is known as the “conscious” mind – our thinking mind. The lower half is known as the “sub-conscious” mind – our emotional mind.?

Conscious Mind???????-????????Thinking Mind

Sub-Conscious Mind?-????????Emotional Mind

My mentor, the late Bob Proctor explained that the image of the Stick Person is “built upon the premise that you have a power within you that is far superior to any condition or circumstance around you. You can use your thoughts to direct this power to whatever results you choose. Although the graphic may seem elementary, I caution you not to allow its apparent simplicity to deceive you. If you truly understand this graphic, it can reveal to you a wonderful world of power, possibility and promise.”

Let’s take a deeper dive into these two core elements of the mind.

  • 1.???Our Conscious Mind (the thinking mind)

The conscious mind is the half that we use to think and reason (to explain logic). We gather knowledge and information in this top-half of the mind. It is where we store our 5 x sensory factors such as see, smell, hear, touch and taste, and our 6 x intellectual faculties such as imagination, will, reason, memory, intuition and perception. Yet most of us forget about our intellectual faculties and just live life using our sensory factors and this holds us back. Our intellectual faculties have the ability to direct energy to flow to and through us which allows us to build an image of our desires and achieve our guaranteed success. We must develop these intellectual faculties which is explored further in ‘Thinking into Results.’

It’s important to understand that our conscious mind has the ability to accept or reject any idea that comes to mind. For this reason, it is important that we develop our mind to make sure that it only thinks in positive form and that we do not let negative influences from the outside world determine our results. We must take control of our own mind!

  • 2.???Our Sub-conscious Mind (the emotional mind)

The sub-conscious mind is the half of the mind that we use to express feeling and emotion. The important point to remember with the sub-conscious mind is that it only has the ability to accept an idea (remember, the conscious mind can accept and reject). The sub-conscious mind cannot differentiate between what is true and what is imagined so it cannot reject the images which we have created in our emotional mind. Instead, we have the ability to trick our sub-conscious mind into believing those images are our true reality!

If we impress the images of our C-type goal into our sub-conscious mind over and over again (by repeating positive affirmations), our desires become fixed into our sub-conscious mind which in turn are expressed through our body.

So, how do our emotions express themselves through the body?

Well, the body is an “instrument of the mind” which means that our thoughts (whether positive or negative) impressed into the sub-conscious mind and then expressed through our physical body. The actions that you take into life will determine the success you achieve in life.

Thoughts (conscious mind) à Feelings/Emotions (subconscious mind) à Actions (body) à Results

If you want to achieve the C-type goal and be successful, you will need to change your mindset. You need to develop positive thoughts of your desire and develop productive habits in line with that desire which you continually impress into your sub-conscious mind by way of affirmations and affirming habits. By performing these simple steps you will change the vibration of your body which in turn will attract to you the good that you desire.

In the words of the late Bob Proctor:

“The Stick Person is without doubt the most valuable information I had ever come to learn.”

Make sure you learn more about the Stick Person – understand the diagram and see how our energy permits us to live from the inside out. We all have infinite potential with us, we just need to understand how to develop it.

To your success.
