How is your mid-year balancing act going?

Hola?and hello,

Well, somehow it is mid-year once again. Time to balance delivering on the goals of 2023 and preparing for 2024 — mid-year reviews on one hand, evaluating benefit strategy on the other (see below for some recent data on what employees?really?want????).

I hope that despite the somewhat hectic pace of mid-year, you are getting a chance to enjoy all the beauty this season has to offer. For me that is making and eating homemade ice-cream, and enjoying the magic of our vegetable garden with my kids.?

If you were in Vegas at SHRM 2023 this week, I hope you learned, made connections, and had as much fun as we had. Maxwell took home the #1 Global Champion in HR Tech Innovation this year, and we couldn't be prouder. You can read more about it here.

Life/Work Top Two

Data and resources on the top 2 matters those focused on People & Culture are tackling this month.?

UNO: ?? Benefit Strategy: If you want the talent it is all about balance & culture

According to?a recent study from LinkedIn?job postings that mention well-being, flexibility, or culture have seen their views grow by 46% more and applications grow by 49% more, compared with the growth of job posts that?don’t?mention them.?

This is a difficult value proposition to deliver, particularly in certain industries where in person work is required. It is however not impossible, we help employers do just this, even in the?though industry of healthcare.

DOS: ??? ?? Anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is impacting workplaces

While pride celebrations are on their way this June,?65% of the LGBTQ+ community are concerned about how anti-LGBTQ legislation will affect their employment opportunities?according to a survey conducted by indeed.

If you are located in a state that recently passed anti-LGBTQ legislation, or have employees locate in one of these states this is the time to re-assure your current employees and potential future ones that you stand behind inclusion. Some of the small but impactful ways you can do that are:

  • Offer inclusive benefits - Maxwell can help you with that ??
  • Use inclusive language in job postings
  • Encourage the use of gender pronouns
  • Leverage ERGs and celebrate Pride Month
