As a rule most photographers struggle with their marketing, its only natural as we are arty sort of people and marketing just doesn't do it for us. However LinkedIn is a Goldmine for Photographers if you just take a little time to get your profile and connection process right you can make a ton of money from just an hour a day on LinkedIn.
Your Professional Headline on LinkedIn is possibly one of the most important sections of your profile and commonly the most over looked, by default most photographers simply write “Professional Photography or Photographer” and leave it at that.
When someone does a search on LinkedIn or views you without opening up your profile in full they only see your photograph, full name and Professional Headline. Your headline needs to tell them what you do but not what you do as a job title. I mean what you do for THEM. For example, I’m a Photography Marketing Mentor, which at a quick glance to a photographer viewing my unopened profile doesn’t really mean that much.
We’ve already established that as a rule we photographers are not too interested in marketing anyway, so my headline needs to catch a photographer’s attention in a split second if we are going to connect. You have a limit of 120 characters for your Professional Headline so I really do suggest you use it in full. Now with a Professional Headline of “Helping PHOTOGRAPHERS to Develop a Brand, Build their Social Media Following, Book More Clients and Make Lots More MONEY”, don’t you think you’d want to connect with me?
So, the key to an awesome Professional Headline is to think of what your clients’ needs are and how you can provide a solution to their problems. It’s a really good idea to spend some time on this one, a really good start to your headline is the word “Helping” then the industry or niche you are offering a solution too and how you solve their problem.
Remember always think WHATS IN IT FOR THEM, everything you write in your profile needs to be of benefit to your clients and what they would get out of the relationship.
I’ve just published my NEW book on Kindle entitled The Photographers Missing Link “edIn” its a complete step by step guide on how to make a ton of money from LinkedIn.
Over the past 2 years I’ve helped 1000’s of photographers around the world make a serious amount of money on this awesome platform and it all comes down to your optimised profile and connection process. However I’ve made it really easy for you and included my own connection scripts and client examples for you to copy and use in your own connection process.
The idea of this book is to bring some of the elements from my 6 Steps to Success Photography Marketing Program and make it affordable for everyone, so for this reason I’ve priced my book at just £3.59
