This is How Your Financial Advisor is Going to Sell You Ethereum

Last week, Ethereum (ETH), finally got it's Exchanged Traded Fund (ETF). Will Ethereum's story mirror the rise of Bitcoin?

A quick background - The Ethereum Revolution

Rewind to 2015. The world of cryptocurrency was primarily dominated by Bitcoin. Then came Ethereum, an ambitious project to create a programmable blockchain governed by smart contracts. Suddenly, cryptocurrency wasn’t just digital money; it became a platform for decentralized applications (dApps). Innovation soared, punctuated by "DeFi Summer" in 2020 aka Decentralized Finance becoming a real use-case for crypto.

Fast-forward to today. Ethereum, often touted as the 'world computer,' is standing on the brink of mainstream adoption. Like Bitcoin, Ethereum has grown from being a niche interest to a powerhouse in the financial and tech industries. Your financial advisor, who once scoffed (or still is) at the idea of cryptocurrencies, might now see Ethereum as the future of finance.

Traditional Contracts vs. Smart Contracts: A New Era of Agreements

Consider the traditional way of doing things: physical contracts. Owning and enforcing contracts is a hands-on, complex endeavor. They are tangible, yes, but not easily automated or managed. Smart contracts, however, bundle agreements into self-executing code on the blockchain, much like programmable trust.

Ethereum runs smart contracts in a disintermediated manner. No middlemen, no one to say you can or you can't...just code execution.

How would I sell you Ethereum if I'm a financial advisor (which I'm not)?

"So, you know Bitcoin, right? We've been calling that digital gold. Ethereum, on the other hand? That's a digital oil ecosystem. Ether (the cryptocurrency you can buy and sell) is the oil, and how it's refined determines the value."

With this second cryptocurrency ETF approval, it feels more & more like a bright future for crypto is here. Do you agree? Would you buy a Ethereum ETF?
