How are you surviving the summer?

It finally feels like we have had a little bit of summer this week with some long overdue sunshine ??????

The summer is a great time for taking a break but it can bring lots of challenges for business owners and become stressful.

With increased holidays amongst staff to manage, worrying about how you are going to be able to step away from the business for you own holiday and maybe even the guilt of having to take the kids to work with you. What should be a summer of fun can end up not being very much fun at all!

Earlier this month I published a Summer Survival Guide for Business Owners. Here are the headlines to help you to make the summer easier:

  1. Take care of yourself - it is important to take a break and recharge so you are giving the best for you, your family and your business.
  2. Plan in advance - look at your holiday calendar to make sure that you have enough resource when you need it to cover staff holidays.
  3. Efficient communication and delegation - make sure you and your team are clear on what they need to be doing while you are away and set clear expectations of when/if you are available to them while you are away.
  4. Boost slow summer sales - summer can lead to a slow down in lead generation and sales, use this time wisely with seasonal promotions and test new ways to engage with customers
  5. Maintain operation efficiency - make sure your systems and processes are running well so if you find yourself operating on lower staff levels everyone knows what they need to do and when.

How often are you asking your customers for feedback?

Getting feedback from customers is a really important part of running a business. It can tell us so much about how we are perceived, what we might be able to do to improve the experience our customers receive and whether we are giving our customers what they really want. Find out more here:

?? What would you like to learn about? ??

I decided to start The Business Tea Break to share knowledge and information to share with business owners.

If you have a pressing challenge, something that you're unsure of, or an area of your business where you're stuck and would like some new ideas, I'd love to hear from you.

Send me a message with your questions and challenges and I will answer them in September's Tea Break.
