How Will You Grow This Year?

How Will You Grow This Year?

Tips to Build Influence at the Workplace

  1. Think Beyond Your Role: Demonstrate systems thinking by contributing ideas and offering support outside your own function. Show that you care about the company and its people as a whole, not just your immediate responsibilities.
  2. Own Your Work: Take pride in what you do and accept compliments graciously. Instead of brushing off praise, try saying, “Thank you! I’m glad you noticed. The trickiest part was X, but it was worth the effort.” This builds credibility and confidence in your work.
  3. Stay Above Office Drama: Avoid gossip and focus on meaningful discussions. Remember, small minds discuss people, medium minds discuss events, but big minds discuss ideas. Elevate the conversations you engage in at work.
  4. Align, Align, Align: Consistent alignment with your team and stakeholders is critical. Over-communicate and check in frequently.
  5. Let Your Ambitions Be Known: Communicate your desire for career advancement. Men often ask for promotions when they’re only 50% ready, while women wait until they’re overqualified. Ask your boss, “What can I do in the next 12 months to position myself for a promotion?” Also, assess your market value to stay informed about opportunities.

If you need help communicating with gravitas, handling challenging workplace dynamics, and refining your leadership presence, join us at our bestselling masterclass. Deep Human Influence is a full-day workshop that will cover storytelling and charismatic communication to handling tough conversations and managing stakeholders in practical ways.

The Power of Your Voice

Your voice is more than just a tool. It’s a reflection of your presence, confidence, and ability to connect. Many times, it isn’t just about what you are saying, but how you are saying it.

If you’ve been searching for ways to refine your communication skills, Adrian Williams-Brett, one of the most accomplished facilitators in communication and performance, is leading a rare voice workshop with us this February. With 30 years of international experience as an actor, director, and corporate trainer, Adrian brings a unique blend of insight, practical tools, and mindfulness-based techniques.

This is an amazing chance to learn from a Hoffman Process lead facilitator, who has trained top professionals across industries, from ANZ to KPMG, and taught globally in the UK, U.S., China, and South Africa. He will guide you through the five elements of B.R.A.V.E Speaking — Breath, Resonance, Articulation, Variation, and Energy — to help you develop a more impactful, confident speaking style. You will get to learn from a master who combines mindfulness, performance, and communication expertise to empower you to speak with clarity and resonance.

When Shame Takes The Lead

We all have those critical, internal voices that say, “I’m not enough,” or “I can’t do this.” These voices form our limiting beliefs and lead us into patterns of self-sabotage.

These limiting beliefs are often deep-rooted shame beliefs, and they can shape our behaviours, locking us into fixed roles fueled by a need for external validation. When shame takes the lead, it can drive us into disempowering habits such as people-pleasing, withdrawing, staying silent, or other patterns of self-sabotage that hold us back.

Adrian’s From Self-Sabotage to Self-Love Workshop is your chance to explore these beliefs and replace them with a narrative rooted in self-compassion and empowerment. Adrian’s deep understanding of human behaviour and his unique ability to create safe, transformative spaces make this session a must-attend for anyone ready to shed old patterns and embrace a more authentic self. Uncover the origins of toxic shame beliefs, understand how they’ve influenced your behaviours, and learn the tools to step into your truth with confidence.

How much you will grow this year is in your hands. We look forward to meeting you at our transformative experiences!

Much love

Crystal

Thinking beyond your role is the key to advancement, Crystal. Don't wait for someone to ask, take the initiative to learn the next two positions above you and integrate your operations into theirs. Make suggestions but be aware of the politics involved.

Thank you for putting this together and sharing it... This one resonated with me... "Let Your Ambitions Be Known: Communicate your desire for career advancement. Men often ask for promotions when they’re only 50% ready, while women wait until they’re overqualified." From my experiences, 50% compounding leads to the type of people we now have in "supervisory" roles AND a speeding up of the whole organization towards mediocracy... ...I would love to see more women step up AND succeed, and define a new narrative for what an organization's success should mean, and how it shapes the world we all share...
