How You Changed Me | Me & You | DR3
In the shadows before YOU,
I dwelled, incomplete,
A moon bereft of light’s grace,
Or perhaps, the light itself,
Seeking a moon to embrace,
And thus, in YOU, found my place.
Have you seen a drop,
Alone amidst the ocean vast?
I, for ages, was lost,
A wildling in the city’s throng,
Easy prey for monsters’ song.
But now, no more,
Enveloped in love’s sweet grace,
I reign like a king,
Devoid of wants,
And untouched by fears’ sting.
A lone corpse, roaming aimlessly,
Nameless, faceless, lost at sea.
No home to hold, no road to tread,
Living a life of the living dead.
You breathed life into my empty frame,
Filled me with love, with hope, with flame,
Now I’m more you than I can claim,
Yet in newfound self, I find my own name.
