How You Can Use Petrol Discounts To Double Your Business!!

By now, you realise I devised the Greater Building Society’s “Get a Home Loan/Get a Free Holiday promotion some years back.
Well a few years ago, I decided to create a further bonus for the Greater’s home loan product and on top of the free holiday, offered a 10 cents per litre fuel discount for new home loan customers.
In other words, when you got a home loan from the Greater, you not only got the free holiday, but you also received 10 cents per litre petrol discounts for a year.
The petrol savings bonus was an overwhelming success, with the Greater’s home loans doubling within just a few weeks!
This is another way you could run the promotion, particularly if you sold higher priced goods or services.
The Greater simply gave customers a chequebook-style coupon book, with 52 Petrol Savings Vouchers.
(One petrol savings voucher for each of the 52 weeks of the year, each representing a 10 cents per litre discount up to 80 litres. The average petrol claim from Greater customers was around 50 litres, although there was a maximum of 80 litres allowed.)
When a consumer makes a purchase of a certain predetermined level, you would give them 10 cents per litre petrol discount for a year.
If you were to limit each of the petrol savings vouchers to 50 litres, it means that the weekly cost to you at most, would be $5.
(Meaning that if your client claimed 50 litres at 10 cents per litre discount ($5 rebate) every week for 52 weeks, your costs would be a very moderate $260!
So as you can see, there’s a number of ways you can run a Petrol Savings Promotion.
