How you can transform the story of your life
It’s a rare privilege to empower others to discover and articulate their story of who they, what makes tick or fly.
Sia Papageorgiou FRSA, FCSCE, SCMP knows a thing or two about emotional intelligence. In fact, she is one of the leading experts in how to harness its immense potential for communicators and changemakers. She cofounded the Gifted Communicators and Communicators community as well as being managing partner at the Centre for Strategic Communications Excellence.
Yet the challenges Sia faced when writing her ‘Purpos Manifesto’ (see illustration) - a personal credo that goes beyond telling a chronology of your life, but serves as a potent mirror for essential self-reflection and a portrait to enable others to understand you, possibly admire you, and where opportune, support your quest - was what we call the ‘changemakers’ story paradox’: she was both the best expert to do the job - and the worst.
You are the best to tell your authentic story as no one knows yourself like you. Yet you are the worst because you are too close, too intertwined with the subject matter to be effectively dispassionate or sagacious about what other people see in you, and too compromised by doubt or vanity.
Fortunately, help is at hand.
Using the freely shared tools and training programme of the Dublin Conversations, a not-for-profit global collective, working to kickstart change for a more purposeful communications industry, provides a process to facilitate a more objective deconstruction of who you are, which can be further aided by a supportive facilitator.
The free tools provide keys to unlock your values, persona, beliefs, social instincts, and purposes to provide a way to detach your own emotional baggage to create your runway of identifying your changemaking stories to guide and inform how you then connect with other people’s narratives.

Sia told me how she regards her ‘Purpos Manifesto’ with its inspiring metaphor of ‘Helping to ignite other people’s inner flames’, as an extraordinarily profound asset that she regularly consults, reflects upon, and further curates to make it a living organic touchstone, enabling to go forward with greater sense of meaning, substance, and direction.
You can hear from Sia’s own lips of her journey in producing her ‘Purpos Manifesto’, in conversation with me where I’ll be sharing my experiences and insights on how you too can create an authentic credo for your life, your ‘Purpos’ in a free webinar, this Tuesday (September 17th) at 8am BST and 5pm AEST.
I will elaborate on the idea of ‘Purpos’ (not it’s not a misprint) but elaborates on Aristotle’s profound components of Logos, Pathos, and Ethos that enable us to influence both ourselves, and others. I’ll also share how ‘Purpos’ is your best time management tool and overcomes the ‘Haven’t got time Monster’.
