Making high achieving men unstoppable. Welcome to The Peak Performance Project.
Happy Easter Monday team.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe where the year is going, I mean Christmas was only a few weeks ago.
Anyway, if you want to get better results than you’re getting right now and improve your physique, lifestyle and mindset between now and summer…
…Send me a message to find out if you qualify to become my next success story and could join the Peak Performance Project.
You could be 1-2 stone down and in a radically new frame of mind with 20-50% more energy and productivity too.
If not here's the week's newsletter on the importance of taking a step back when improving your health.
The bigger picture
?
When you take a step back, you want to know exactly what makes you happy in specific detail.
You want to know what you’re most proud of about yourself where are you most confident, where you’re most organised and how often you do something that you love.
You want to know what makes you sad, what your strengths are and where you feel the most powerful, as well as what you can do physically/performance-wise.
You can imagine what it would feel like to become that person and how your life would be different than it is now, for you and those around you, as well as your future.
With a firm and well-considered understanding of your core values, your current situation, and your core strengths you can identify key levers for change whilst taking into account the bigger picture.
You also become immediately immune to short-term approaches to life. (Sorry Six Pack Steve)
Knowing what makes you happy about the ideal version of you allows you to see that you love a challenge, enjoy pushing yourself and love that you have done something you never believed or even thought possible.
You may also find that the ideal version of you doesn’t feel guilty for having the odd day off eating healthy, for putting yourself first, after telling people “No” when necessary, too.
Also, you may find that the ideal version of you not only has a great body but also feels, thinks, and acts completely different than you do now, explaining why focusing on food or exercise alone was never going to give you the outcome you truly desired.
Something to bear in mind is “You don’t know what you don’t know”.

It’s both understandable and admirable that you’ve done your best using “Operating System 1.0” which is the best you can do before you go through a radical transformation.
(This is where non-judgement and self-compassion are essential.)
Anyway know that my hope is that you want to achieve greatness in the absence of self-criticism which is the primary driving force of traditional methods of health improvement, short-term quick fixes, and one size fits all approaches.
Having considered your values, strengths, and potential impact on the world, you are now naturally inspired to achieve greatness and officially no longer need motivation.
You know exactly what you want and can clearly point to it from a place of gratitude and in service, rather than judgement, egotism or analysis paralysis.
You have exactly what you’ve been searching for the past 5, 10, 15, or 20 years without knowing it, and it’s wonderful.
However, it’s not all roses and sunshine.
Unfortunately, there’s nothing more addictive than something that almost works, and when wanting a radically different outcome we need to use a radically different approach.
And on that note, I'll leave you with an amazing quote from an amazing man, as I eat more chocolate Easter eggs...
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”. ~ Albert Einstein.

1 年Great article Mike. Taking a step back is the number 1 thing we can all do going into Q2. Am I where I want to be? What does good look like for me and how can I bridge the gap? Great work bro

1 年Well said Mike! I've always thought of my fitness journey in terms of short term success. Working out for 3 months then stopping for a year and kicking it back up again and so on and so forth. A broken record of sorts. Now, I plan on keeping it up for life, not to just be in shape but tp remain healthy and stay mobile. And since I work from home I see no better excuse but to make it a lifestyle! Happy Easter Monday!
