How wrong hiring can be a disaster....
Hiring itself is a time-consuming task but hiring leaders is a nerve-racking task. Normally HR hires the prospect candidate in the desired time but concern comes when they are hiring for critical senior roles. It is to be noted that the hiring of leadership, middle management, and junior management team are three different scenarios. One is a strategic player, second is the bridge between the top and the bottom, and third is the operational members – they who hit the ground, increase your performance, and ease your workload.
Even though you have carefully designed your hiring process, it can still lead you to mishaps.
In certain cases, your perfect hire turns out to be far from your expectations and you spend months dealing with aftermath calculations and finding another right replacement. Point to be noted is that errors in the hiring of middle /junior staff can be adjusted but if the hiring of a wrong leader is done then it is a disaster.
Remember, your leadership team is just not your strategic business planner but also the brand ambassadors of your company and they directly control/influence your company culture.

4 年True sir it happens generally when pitential derailment happens owing to the pchycopath (flow for self pleaire and thrill), Narcissistic (flow for self obsession of the persona) and Machevillian (flow for the demonstration of power) leaders in place.. Selection no doubt is a highly tedious task when we look for a potential and may be done assessing 6 personality traits as per HPTI model...But surely while looking for desired traits we shoud not be carried away with dark personality traits which undesirably results in the production of Bad/ Mad / Sad leaders..

4 年We need to give some time for new recruit to be settled down first in the job as he has to adjust to the working culture in the new company. However many new recruits were not getting the settling time and every one expects them to delivery 100% from day one itself without any delay. HR has to hand hold the new recruit from the day one . Hope you will agree..
