How writing helps Sarang...

Happy December!

If my first issue, I talked about Sarang as one example of "building in public." I asked him few questions about his writing habit. If you are looking to start writing, connect with him and ask him questions. He is happy to share his learnings.

***

Can you please tell a little background about yourself?

I am a startup enthusiast who likes to build the system from scratch and take it to scale. Other than the tech I spend a lot of time reading and writing blogs on sarang.ai

I am also a little bit of a fitness guy who likes to gym, swim, run and cycle.

When did you start writing regularly?

I have started writing long back in 2011 but it was all scattered and used very random. 2021 May is when I got serious and started publishing weekly.

What is your process to find ideas for your articles?

I have a habit of reading newsletters, articles and books. While I read I get triggered for the topic which interests me.

How do you keep going? Don't you run out of ideas?

I keep on maintaining a list of all such topics which interest me along with the reference which inspired me.

How do you find time amidst your busy schedule?

I have a reserved time in a week when the only thing I do is either my research on the topic or Grooming my blogs.

How has writing helped you?

The more I am writing the more clear I am getting in my thought process. Earlier I just used to make any decisions without any base or thought process. Now it has some reason which I am still not that great but getting better every day.

Lessons

There are two lessons I'm taking away from Sarang.

  • Reserve a block of time during the week
  • The more you write, you get more clear in your thinking

You can see that writing and publishing helps you develop clarity of mind which is required for decision making especially at the managerial level. I encourage you to start traveling this journey.

What are the lessons from this interview with Sarang? Do you have any questions? Please leave them in comments below.

Agree with Sarang Bondre and you Joseph Jude on the point of writing helps in clarity of thoughts. I recently started reading Julia Cameron's The Artists way, a widely acclaimed book for creators. Hoping to bring method to the madness of writing..
