(Written by a real live human: Chris Prouty) One thing I observe is that successful business owners realize that social media content can be an incredibly effective tool for finding new leads, prospects, and clients.
By crafting social media posts and videos that are eye-catching and engaging, businesses can reach potential customers that may not have been aware of their products or services in the past.
But how do you know what kind of content to create? And what do you say in your content? And once the content is created, where should you post it?
How about we dig into these topics and get you creating content that sells.
What Is Content Marketing?
This might sound obvious, but content marketing is a type of marketing that involves creating and sharing content.
The content could be blog posts, social media posts, videos, and other forms of content to attract customers and build relationships with them.
Its primary goal is to get customers interested in your products or services so that they take a step towards working with you.
Content marketing also helps build brand awareness by providing informative and entertaining content for people to consume.
For me, at least, I am inspired to use content marketing as a way to educate. So, nearly all of the content I share organically or through paid campaigns has an educational mission.
Make sense?
What Kind Of Content Should I Create For Social Media?
You've established yourself. You are present on social media, your website, and with your audience. You are probably "known" in your circles as the go-to person for what you do.
But you might be wondering if your content is effectively working on getting you clients.
Here's what I want you to understand. Most people seek to be educated before making any buying decision.
Think about it. Recall the last time you were going to make a large purchase. If you are like most people, you probably read articles, watched videos, and talked with others online about whatever it was you were considering buying.
You wanted to be more educated about the service or product.
Your prospects are the same way. So give them what they want.
Creating educational content for social media is an effective way to showcase your expertise and attract potential customers.
You can build trust and establish yourself as a thought leader in the industry by providing helpful, informative content that speaks directly to your target audience's needs and interests.
Educating your prospects will help drive more leads and sales, but it will also help boost brand awareness among potential customers who may not have been aware of your business (or your solution) before.
So, create educational content about your service or product.
What Should I Say In My Social Media Content?
Prospects are always looking for ways to understand how a service or product will benefit them.
They want to know if it is worth the investment and if it can provide the solutions they need.
This means that social media content should focus on promoting a business and educating prospects about why they should choose your services over others.
Content should be informative and tailored to the customer’s needs to create an engaging experience that drives sales.
You can build a strong bond with potential customers while demonstrating expertise in your field by providing helpful information through social media posts, videos, and other forms of content.

This will make prospects more likely to invest in your services as they feel confident that you have their best interests at heart.
So, I'm wondering if you can see that creating content that showcases the results they can get in working with you is the next step in moving forward to grow your business.
Where Should I Post My Social Media Content?
The question of where you should post your client-getting content is quite easy to answer. Yet, the number of people who consider this is relatively small.
The most successful people I mentor realize that it's important to post content where it will have the biggest impact.
Post your social media content on sites where your prospects are AND where they will engage with your content.
For example, my best prospects are on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, AND they engage with my content there. They are also on TikTok but do not engage with my content there.
So, I focus on the social sites where my audience is and where they engage with my content.
Here’s The Bottom Line.
It’s true.
Content marketing is a goldmine of opportunity for your business.
Just not in the way people are used to on social media.?
The fallacy is that you can randomly show up and share a self-congratulatory "signaling" post, and prospects will beat a path to your door.
But when you optimize your content for what your audience is looking for, when you are generous with your content and actually teach people things …you can see leads coming to you like nothing before.?

Here’s The “Catch” You Think Is Coming.
There are two.
First, I can’t work with just anybody. You’ve got to be a good fit.?
There are some requirements that you need to meet. The most important is that you are a real business. It’s fine if you are just starting out. And you can’t be doing anything the “authorities” might frown upon.
The second is that this is very limited and very time sensitive …for a reason.
I keep these groups small so that I can give you my personal attention and make sure you get all your questions answered. I really just want to see you get results.?
So spots are granted on a “first-come” basis.
