A lot of recruiters have to be in a mood to read it. When you have to go through that many resumes, you really do need to be in the mood to go through the mental process of reading them. So it's vital when you send it and the time.
The best day to send your resume is on Monday's between 8–10:00a.m. Usually by Friday recruiters are mentally on their way out of the office. Meaning they're focusing on their weekend and not on your resume. The next best time to send a resume is on Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Why? Because after the lunch hour is when people have an opportunity to relax and spend extra time reading them.
The purpose of your resume is to introduce yourself to someone who doesn't know you. You have to show them your expertise, your style, your personality, and your skills. This begins at the top of your resume and starts with your professional profile. Your Professional Profile, should encapsulate the qualities that makes you valuable.

On average most directors would prefer your resume to be one or two pages. However if you work in an industry which requires extensive experience for example, an attorney, surgeon or someone with PhD, etc. What’s more important is the content not the number of pages.
Use power words that have impact. Words like extensive, discover, focused, effort, progress, and success. Words have power because they have impact.
Above all else don't forget to proofread! Ensure you've someone with the right skills to review your resume. As you can see there are so many keys to developing a sharp resume.
