How to Write Quality Technical Job Post on LinkedIn

As an active technical recruiter I'm able to determine whether a job post was created by a technical professional or someone who has no technical background .

Quality job descriptions for IT/Tech related roles follow a natural flow that makes it easier for applicants to determine if they will be a good fit for the advertised role.

The natural flow for a quality job post should be

Number of Years

Number of years experience should be a requisite for senior to midlevel roles but not necessarily for entry level roles.

By rule of thumb, staying in a role between 3 - 4 years qualifies a professional for senior roles

1 year - 4 years work experience ----- Junior/Associate role

4 years - 8 years work experience----- Senior roles

10 years and above ------ director role

Number of years experience is not relevant for entry level as applicants as they will be trained for the job

Education & Certification

Technical jobs require specific technical education and training

Software engineering jobs require a Computer Science education or background or associated disciplines of study such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering

Another popular route to IT roles are bootcamps and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) which provide certification upon completion. Popular ones are edX, Coursera, Udemy, Udacity
