Writing might be easy, but blogging can be excruciating. Let me explain...
If you’re an SEO writer or blogger, you’re not just writing for the sake of writing. You’re creating the content so that search engines like your content. It’s not just about the readers, but how Google feels about your blog.
And if Google thinks your piece is worthwhile, it will make it visible to real people as well.
Therefore, it should be noted. If you want to satisfy peoples' search queries, you first need to satisfy the ranking factors.
I’m not saying that you should not write for humans and only serve the algorithm. But, you should strike a balance between the both.
And once you understand the methods that make your blog—reader’s friendly, and SEO friendly. Nobody can stop you from showing in the top searches.?
Therefore, here are some blogging tips that I've picked up over time. I'm confident it'll work for you as well.
1. Choose a good title
Your title should include: search intent, keyword, and attention. To research topic/title/keyword, use these free tools: AnswerThePublic, Quora, SEMrush, Ubersuggest, LSIgraph, and KeywordTool.
Create a title that is under 60 characters. The title must be compelling and honest. If you’re not able to create the full title—do it while you’re writing the content. I sometimes edit it several times before publishing the blog.
2. Research before you begin
Look what’s already ranking in the top pages. If you think your keyword is too saturated, choose a long-tail keyword. If you find most of the articles to be old and short. You’ve got a perfect opportunity to create a long-form blog.?
You don't need to be an expert at a certain topic, look what people have already mentioned. Add all those subtopics but with new information and better insights. Google loves new content with more information. Also, everything will revolve around the search intent.?
3. Don’t ignore LSI?
You don’t want to depend on primary keywords only, Google looks for LSI keywords also. LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing), LSI are not synonyms, they are related terms that search engine uses to understand your content. For example, the LSI for 'digital marketing' would be 'digital marketing strategy' and 'digital marketing definition'.
To find out the LSI, use Google’s autocomplete and “related searches” at the bottom of the page. Use free tools like LSIgraph and Keysearch to find out your LSI keywords. Try to use LSI in your content but don’t overdo it.?
4. Make an outline?
You should already have a good idea—what to include. Figure out your subheading, internal links, external links, and what to mention under the subheadings.?
Before writing your blog, you should have a good idea about the introduction, body, and conclusion.?Your content should have a natural flow from the introduction to the conclusion.
5. Start writing
Open word or docs and with all these notes, start writing your blog. It shouldn’t be difficult now since you did good research. I like to have all the important tabs open—makes the citation part easy.
While writing and after you’re done, don’t miss a chance to incorporate internal links.?Use keyword-rich anchor text. Give internal links to your important pages.

6. Don’t struggle with the introduction.
The introduction might be the hardest to create. Use these tactics: Look for ideas from your competitors or start with a question that has a keyword also.
Use your first paragraph to create a hook. Keep it short and to the point. You need to make sure that the reader gets excited about what's coming next.
7. Keep the writing simple?
Don’t go fancy with your writing. Use easy vocabulary, shorter sentences, and conversation style. Remember that you’re writing for an online audience and not academics. The Grammar rules are different for both.
Make your reader feel like they are having a 1:1 conversation with you. Use “I” and “we”, and try to be relatable.
8. Maintain the gap
Create scannable content that is easy to grasp. Structure your subheading, paragraphs, and bullet points. If I’m writing 4 paragraphs in every subheading, I try to follow it throughout.
In most cases, you would want to use short paragraphs. Read blogs from NeilPatel, Backlinko, Ahref, Moz, etc to understand this.
9. Put in on WordPress
If you are the publisher also, you need to perform On-Page SEO on WP. Start with naming heading tags. Always chose the “open this in new tab” option for links.
Include your keyword in tags. Make sure that you rename every image you’ll use. Edit your URL slug and keep it shorter. Check other SEO settings using plugins like Yoast or RankMath
10. Publish it on time
Figure out a schedule and stick to it. Publish on the same days—Google rewards consistency. Always double-check your URL slug before publishing because you don’t want to redirect it later.?
Don’t worry about the Grammar or adding more content. You can always do that later if you’re running out of time. In fact, going back after some time and adding new content is a good thing.?
Conclusion
I know I did not talk about some other stuff. But guess what. If you just follow these blogging methods step-by-step, there's a really good chance that you’ll see the result.
The advantage of learning SEO writing or the SEO part of blogging is that you don't have to be a prolific writer. Understand search intent, use relatable LSI, and follow these tips, and you'll be more than fine.
Remember that writing is also important, which is why you should write in simple language. However, that’s not enough to compete.?
So next time when you’re writing a blog, remember these tips. And don’t just these tips, research more and learn more. Use them and share them with me also!
