It was a dark and stormy night, a night through which the moon shops for bright ideas.
Veronica sat at her desk, determined to write a story which haunted her since she was 7.
She had always loved reading them, but writing one seemed an impossible task for her.
As a teen, she doubted her ability to scare anyone with her words.
In fact, her concerns were considered amusing.
But Veronica was determined to try.
She wanted her memories to survive.
She wanted to haunt people.
She pulled out a pen and paper, ready to feel.
She took a deep breath and began the healing process.
Step 1: Setting the Scene
Veronica closed her eyes and imagined a forsaken mansion, surrounded by dense fog and towering trees.
She could feel the cold blowing through the broken windows, caressing her hands' skin, pushing her fingers to weave.
Nightwinds were playing with this instrument : the mansion.
Step 2: Introducing the Characters
Next, she created 2 simple people, almost innocent.
A young couple, lost in the woods, seeking shelter in the mansion.
She gave them distinct personalities, making them relatable and vulnerable.
Oh, but, how did they find this mansion?
This place, seemingly lost to time...
Step 3: Building Suspense
As the couple entered the mansion, Veronica described the creaking floors, the flickering lights, and the eerie silence.
She let the tension bud, the trespassers holding their breaths.

Step 4: The Scare
It was time for the scare.
Veronica unleashed her imagination and came up with a terrifying (and rather expected) twist.
The couple was not alone in the mansion.
A ghostly figure appeared, haunting them for trespassing on her property.
Terrifying, and unexpectedly polite, she asked them to leave.
Of course, they refused to move.
Or more accurately, their body did.
But their refusal, their opposition to her rather gentle demand unsettled her.
And so the walls began to move.
She could only see half of the reason.
She was a One-eyed maiden.
Veronica smiled as she read over her creation.
She couldn't believe she had written a horror story.
She may have been bad at writing, but her will was more powerful.
She had created something truly frightening.
The storm outside intensified, and Veronica couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine.
She looked up and saw a ghostly figure standing in her room.
But she smiled.
She knew it was just her muse coming for her.
She was alive.
From that day on, Veronica was no longer afraid to write.
She had discovered her own way of channeling fear, and it was all thanks to her process materialized.
She knew she would see her every time she had a lonely meal, and as she went to sleep in the eve.
She had a friend.
