What can you do to make sure your #resume stands out from the crowd?

When applying for a programming position, job seekers should remember that the employer is looking for someone with specific skills. That means it's important to showcase both technical and non-technical skills and achievements. Describe what you did at each job:

??What were your tasks?

??What part of the program, code, application did you write?

??What did you rewrite, rework, or improve?

??What was difficult for you, and what did you manage to do very easily and quickly?

??Where did you or others make mistakes?

??What ideas did you offer?

Don't write the obvious things; recall difficult and interesting tasks. Find value in your experience.

Here are some examples to consider:

“I developed an interface for accessing lessons on simulators and processing their results. To do this, I developed a PHP plugin that integrates with Moodle through the platform's API and communicates with the simulators via HTTP. The plugin supports LTI, which makes it also an access point to simulators from other SDOs.”

“I created a web interface for access to simulators as a separate plugin that allows installing it on any Moodle CDS in automatic mode. This option introduces LTI support, which gives customers (30 universities) an opportunity to start a lesson on the simulator from their familiar Blackboard LMS.”

??Remember! Employers want to know that their potential recruits can apply practical solutions and technologies to business problems. If possible, include a link to your projects. Fill out a portfolio and attach it to your resume. If you have signed a confidentiality agreement, tell only about the results of your own work: how long you worked, what problems you solved.
